As we go to the polls tomorrow Saturday, December 7th, let us all remember that elections are a time to shape our nation’s future, not to divide us. Ghana has always been a beacon of democracy in Africa—let’s uphold this proud legacy. Contribute to a peaceful election by: 1️⃣ Be Responsible: Cast your vote with dignity and avoid actions that may provoke tension. 2️⃣ Respect Each Other: We may support different candidates, but we all share one goal—a better Ghana. 3️⃣ Say No to Violence: Peaceful elections are the foundation of lasting development. Let’s reject hate speech and stay united. 4️⃣ Follow the Rules: Adhere to all voting protocols and respect the Electoral Commission’s guidelines. Remember, Ghana wins when peace prevails. Let your voice be heard at the ballot box, not through conflict. #GhanaDecides2024 #peacefulelection #votewisely #ghanafirst🇬🇭 #bridgeqe

The continent of Africa is plagued with a plethora of conflicts and Post-Election Violence is one of them. In this scholarly article, I had to X-ray what are the justification for this phenomenon in Africa and we as policy analyst can advocate for it's reduction. Elections are considered by many as an evidence of democracy. However the million dollar question is how free, fair, transparent and credible are these elections.

South Africa's 29 May 2024 election is the first time since the end of formal apartheid in 1994, that the outcome of the election is unpredictable, with the governing African National Congress not guaranteed a majority. Without uncertainty in the outcome of elections, the probabilities that governing parties and leaders will be accountable or adhere to good governance are remote. Without the real possibility of losing power, governing parties and leaders have little incentives to deliver reliable public services, behave responsibly and honestly. The political landscape of South Africa is about to be redrawn. Talking to National Public Radio.

ICYMI: Enhancing the Integrity of Nigeria's Electoral Process The recently held governorship election in Edo State failed the electoral integrity test, according to the verdict by the civil society group, YIAGA AFRICA, in its official report evaluating the election. The report highlighted several reasons for this failure, starting with what it called a compromised results collation process. The group found that while key electoral procedures like accreditation, voting, and counting adhered to established guidelines, the integrity of the overall results was severely undermined during collation. Like Edo State, elections in Nigeria at every level are replete with similar complaints. Given the Electoral Act 2022, which introduced key changes to Nigeria's electoral system, one wonders if these reforms have truly addressed the systemic issues that have plagued elections in the past. Here, we look into these issues and the potential means to enhance the integrity of Nigeria's electoral process. Take a listen. The Ondo State elections have come and gone, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the people of Ondo State for their peaceful participation. The elections were relatively peaceful, and we commend all stakeholders—citizens, security forces, and election officials—for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and orderly process. All political parties and candidates signed the Ondo State Peace Accord, committing to uphold both the letter and spirit of the agreement. We call on all parties to continue adhering to the principles of peace, fairness, and democratic integrity, as outlined in the Accord, particularly Clause 2 - To accept and abide by the outcome of the 2024 Ondo State Gubernatorial Elections, and if issues should arise, I will deploy constitutional means and appeal to the courts, rather than other unconstitutional means - which emphasizes the importance of maintaining peace and unity in the post-election period. We urge everyone to respect the Peace Accord and work together to preserve the peaceful atmosphere, ensuring the greater good of Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole. #NPC4Peace #TKC4Peace #Ondo4Peace #EU4DemocracyNG
