My debut book launches on Kickstarter on 1 July and the campaign planning is in full motion. I've been experimenting with the book cover... Which one do you like the most? 🤔 1 – I chose GREEN as the main colour of the book as the colour of the Heart chakra, the most healing energetic centre that gently embraces the PINK, which is symbolic of the Inner Child! 2 – The Dragon theme came into the picture while I was setting up the campaign and I love that it brings a sense of play and imagination into the mix. 3 – Finally, the DARK book cover feels appropriate for it is in the darkest corners of our subconscious mind where we find the keys to our liberation! When it comes to launching your book, you have to commit to a single launch strategy. If you commit and try to do a little bit of everything, you're going to burn out. You're going to spend a ton of time. You're going to question everything. It's not going to be fun and you won't know what worked and what didn't. I made this mistake! With my first book, I tried everything you could possibly imagine. I tried every launch strategy. It worked, but I didn't know why it worked and I was exhausted. What you need to do is commit to a single launch strategy & understand EXACTLY what your intentions are.

Let's reframe book marketing. So often we talk about it with frustration and even despair. I'm not saying getting people to buy our books is easy but building a platform becomes a tad easier when we focus on connecting with the people who WANT our books, instead of the faceless "everybody" or the people who actively shun or judge our subject matter. A book marketing tip for today: Reach out to one person who needs one idea from your book (books-in-progress too, you don't have to be finished!) and share it with a note "I was thinking of you when I was writing today and thought you might find this useful." Small connections rewire our brains to remember there are people in the world who want and need what we have to say. (Picture of me being excitedly silly about book marketing.)
