🚀 New #foodtech #impact portfolio company & investment - meet Seaqure labs 😮 Problem Overfishing which is turned into fishmeal for feed 😎 Solution Creating protein made from mycoprotein, or fungi, done with a unique fermentation technique 😃 Potential Huge impact for reducing waste. The global fish feed market is worth $60 billion - aquaculture is the world’s fastest-growing food industry, as the global population increases. Chalmers Ventures has been following Seaqure Labs' development since their time at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship. The company is well-positioned, with the potential to become a global impact company. - The way we feed our animals today is unsustainable. We need to transform our food production. Just take fishing in the Baltic Sea as an example. 92 percent of all herring caught in the Baltic Sea goes to fish feed, says Johan Henriksson, CEO and co-founder of the company. - They have found a great application for fish feed, and now the process of truly commercializing this begins, says Oskar Svarfvar, Seed Investment Manager at Chalmers Ventures. Seaqure labs have moved into Sahlgrenska Science Park's new Life Science hub and have joined the MassChallenge Switzerland accelerator in Switzerland Team Johan Henriksson Albin Frick Sajjad Karimi - University of Borås Mohsen Parchami - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) #impactinvestment #chalmers #chalmersventures #foodtech Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship Chalmers Innovation Office Chalmers University of Technology Full PR in comment

How can innovative technologies transform the agrifood industry? We explored this exciting potential at the recent Food Entrepreneurship Made in Bavaria (FEMIB) event, where we had the honor of presenting our work to Bavarian State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt and TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann. FEMIB, supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs (Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie) and run by EIT Food in collaboration with Technische Universität München, is dedicated to boosting Bavarian agrifood startups. Being part of the vibrant ecosystem fostered by initiatives like FEMIB, the TUM Venture Labs, and the EIT Food Seedbed Incubator programme is exciting. At IONSELECT, our mission is to tackle Europe's manure management challenges by developing a cutting-edge nutrient-sensing hardware solution. Our innovative sensor technology optimizes manure fertilization efficiency for farmers, resulting in higher yields and reduced environmental impact. We look forward to continuing our journey, driving innovation, and collaborating with others in the agrifood sector. How can we join forces to advance sustainable agriculture? #EITFood #FEMIB #BavarianStartups #IONSELECT #ManureManagement #Agritech #Sustainability #Innovation

It's hard to believe that it is 5 years since we attended the Finals of the first "Feed the Future Event" by Lely. Lvlogics was one of 8 finalists from across the globe attending the event in Lely's HQ in Maassluis in Nov 2019. It was a pivotal moment for us, as it was the first time pitching SiloSpi, our remote silo monitoring solution, on a global stage. 5 years on, Barry Finnegan MSc is looking forward to a return visit to Amsterdam next week to attend the Navus Portfolio Event 2024. It's super to see from Linkedin, the continued success of some of the other finalists we had the pleasure of meeting during the event Nadine Pesonen from Quanturi and Ambra Milani from Cynonyms, among others. Alexander van der Lely, CEO at Lely at the time, explained that the goal of the challenge was: “We really should understand the problems and challenges on a dairy farm and find solutions, of which the farmer doesn’t know he or she needs them yet. That is real innovation. At Lely, we are always searching for technologies that we can apply in the agricultural sector. Startups are very important for our future. We devote a lot of time to develop innovations, but we cannot do this all by ourselves. There are many more new technologies coming out in the world. That’s why we really want to combine our creative energy with the creative energy of startups to find new ingenious solutions in dairy farming.” We thank him and André van Troost, and all the management team at Lely for having this vision. In particular, we thank Eduard Meijer, Jaap Zijlstra and Olivier van Holthe tot Echten for their continued support over the last 5 years. Looking forward to what the next 5 years will bring as Lvlogics continue on this exciting journey. #silomonitoring #binmonitoring #silolevels #FeedtheFuture #SiloSpi

💡 Use every carbon - use every bit of energy from your feedstock A perfect 5 min summary of EveryCarbon’s radical new way to produce highly functional polymer products by our incredible CTO Leonie Rominger . EveryCarbon means don’t be fussy about where your carbon is coming from but once you have it, you are not letting go of it until it is a value-added product. This way we can reduce energy intakes and produce polymers in an unparalleled sustainable way.
"60-day-old fermented sausage salad is indeed a nasty substrate. But it's exactly the kind we want." 👉Yesterday, my co-founder and CTO of EveryCarbon Leonie Rominger , delivered an extraordinary pitch on EveryCarbon's mission of sustainably produced high performance polymers and the technology to achieve this from nasty wet organic waste streams. 🎬 But maybe you should just hear Leonie's words about how this not only recovers every carbon atom from our feedstock, but also reduces energy consumption by up to 50% compared to equivalent processes. We are still stunned by the overwhelmingly positive feedback we got for our technology at the VENTURE SPRIND event organized by SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen. And I want to pass this on to everyone involved in this development. It would not be possible without the support we get in Gescher's Lab of Technical Microbiology - TUHH and our partners at the Technische Universität Hamburg, Universität Hamburg, IMDEA Energy and so many more. ...and last but not least, thanks to SPRIND for the financial support! 👏So please give some applause for Leonie and everyone else making EveryCarbon possible. Especially since I cut off the applause during the recording... #becausewearebiologist #makeeverycarboncount #startup #pitch Steffen Voß Simon Müller Sanne Melles Georg Lentzen Johannes Gescher Patrick P.
