This is our first cooking episode, as we explore the idea of sandwiches in the plant-based adjacent world with more healthy options. Will it work? Let's See. (Ocilia Newby edited this episode)

Some of you know that the show The Bear, on Hulu/D+, a drama about the restaurant industry, is AMAZING! This most recent season 3 finale episode 10 displays the most amazing example of how apprentice/training interactions should go for new hires everywhere and in EVERY profession. These 3ish minutes of the show (linked below) display insane amounts of: *Trying to set the main protagonist (Carmen/Carmy) up for success. *Empathy *Understanding of history and mention of the crudeness of certain terms within every industry, but navigated the most pragmatic way. *Respect for Carmen (main protagonist) and to the Sou chefs that he insticntively felt may be performing an antiquated “right of passage” to haze the newbie. *Embedding stories that create meaningful details to help strengthen neuro pathways to make it “sticky” and perhaps tap into that learners pre-established Schemas. *Deep metacognition in which this seasoned chef is constantly articulating the process to connect with the learner to know the “what” and “the why” and to show that he is in a place of excellence that wants to achieve it at ALL levels! All of this is happening while this chef (MKO-More Knowledgeable Other) is sharing his knowledge through the love of the art and to hopefully help this novice see a future in this excellence to build his legacy! May we all model these behaviors when we help to educate others regardless of the arena/profession!!!!!!
