🚀The 2024 State of the Energy Union report reveals the EU's progress and challenges in energy and climate transition. Under the European Green Deal, ambitious policies are set for climate neutrality by 2050, with 2030 targets like a 55% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. 🌞Renewable energy is on the rise. In 2023, a record 56 GW of new solar capacity was installed, and wind energy has become the second-largest electricity source, surpassing gas. The EU is making great strides in clean energy. 🛡️Additionally, between August 2022 and May 2024, the EU reduced gas demand by 18%, saving 138 billion cubic meters. But more effort is needed to meet 2030 energy efficiency goals. 🌍The EU is a global climate leader. It's actively involved in international efforts such as the Global Methane Pledge. The report stresses the need for accelerated action to achieve 2030 climate and energy targets and address ambition gaps and infrastructure bottlenecks. #SolarEnergy #solarsolution #EnergyEfficiency #Microinverter #solarunis #microinverter #cleanenergy #greenenergy #solarinverter #European #inverter #solarenergy #solarsolutions #solar #energy

According to recent data, there has been a significant achievement in clean energy with wind and solar power contributing to a record-breaking 30% of global electricity production last year. The Global Electricity Review published by climate think tank Ember suggests that the world is approaching a crucial turning point in favor of clean energy, with a slight decline expected in global fossil fuel generation by 2024, and even greater declines in the following years. This progress is seen as a noteworthy step towards achieving the goal of 60% renewable electricity by 2030, which is considered essential for addressing global climate challenges. The European Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action confirms that in 2023, emissions under the EU ETS dropped by 15.5% compared to 2022, putting them 47% below 2005 levels and on track for the 2030 target of -62%. Power generation emissions notably decreased by 24% in 2023 due to increased renewable energy production, including wind and solar. Energy-intensive industries saw a 7% emissions drop, attributed to lower output and improved efficiency. However, aviation emissions increased by 10% as the sector recovered from the pandemic-related downturn. Reach out to Grey Epoch to learn more about the EU ETS. #EUETS #CarbonEmissions #CarbonMarket

A 51% renewables in the gross final energy consumption. And 93% on electricity consumption. These are two new targets in Portugal’s NECP (National Energy and Climate Plan). 📌 The new centre-right government, set in April 2024, has inevitably “broken” the deadline for surrender to Brussels, accumulating a different delay also on public consultation. 🔎 Like the previous version, the text provides for 65 regional lines and 297 measures, which define the direction of the energy transition “in favour of the country’s strategic interests”. 👉 The revised drafts include the commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% from 2005 levels by 2030, a target set by the previous Socialist government a year ago, and the 2045 target for carbon neutrality by 2045. ⬇️ Link in the first comment #RinnovabiliNET #environmnent #greeneconomy #solar #eolic #energy #greenenergy #solarenergy #windenergy #sustainable #sustainablity #sustainabledevelopment

The Federal Cabinet has adopted the updated National Energy and Climate Plan #NECP for Germany 🇩🇪, marking progress toward achieving the country’s climate targets. Aligning with EU 🇪🇺 targets, the update ensures that by 2030, renewable energy will cover 80% of gross electricity consumption. Also by 2030, 215 gigawatts (GW) of photovoltaics and approx. 115 GW of onshore wind are to be auctioned, and at least 30 GW of offshore wind energy is to be installed. #EnergyTransition #betd25 #netzero via Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz https://lnkd.in/dwMi8sNm

🔋🌍 **NATIONAL ENERGY AND CLIMATE PLAN (NECP): Submission of the French plan to the European Commission** 🇫🇷➡️🇪🇺 On July 10, France submitted its finalized National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) to the European Commission, based on the multi-year energy programming, the national low-carbon strategy, and the national adaptation plan for climate change. 🎯 **Targets:** - **Renewable energy consumption**: 570 TWh (41%) by 2030, out of a total of 1,381 TWh, slightly below the 44% required by the EU. - **2020 Target**: 23% renewable energy, achieved in 2024, with a one-point surplus. 📅 The provisional version, submitted in November, did not indicate a renewable consumption target, exposing France to delays in regional funds co-financed by the EU. #RenewableEnergy #Climate #EnergyTransition #France #EuropeanUnion

We're among the 100 companies and organizations that have signed Global Renewables Alliance’s call for transformative Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). We urge world leaders to set ambitious, specific and actionable renewable energy targets in their updated national climate plans to the United Nations. To keep 1.5C within reach, the energy transition must progress much faster, and commitments must be translated into tangible actions in the next round of NDCs. Now, deliver change 👉 https://lnkd.in/dENsxgJ9 #LetsDecarbonize #NowDeliverChange

Five Countries With the Cleanest Energy Grid Globally. Countries around the globe are racing to decarbonise in pursuit of a green transition. Several governments have created national policies to encourage a shift away from fossil fuels towards renewable alternatives, in a bid to achieve their Paris Agreement climate pledges. Yet, some have been more successful than others at transitioning. The countries with the highest proportion of electricity coming from renewable energy are all endowed with abundant natural resources, such as geothermal, hydro, and wind power, and most have relatively small electricity… http://ow.ly/G5Gv105sJZY
