What a week! Had the very fortunate opportunity to travel to Australia and participate in Google's first #retailmedia event in the market. Adrian Vallelonga Raphael Hodes and Laura Birchall curated a fantastic event with leaders across retailers, brands, and platforms in the space and provided me the opportunity to share insights and observations across the US market to consider as the Australia market creates its unique approach. I greatly enjoyed hearing from organizations like Coles360, Woolsworth, Reckitt and leaders in the Australian market Mike Tyquin Steve Geelan Paul Brooks Florence Paoli Martyn Raab and many others. On top of that I got to meet retail media celebrity Roger Dunn in person (definitely a highlight of my trip, his memes keep me and my team laughing) few observations on the market differences in this space: 1. The US #retailmedianetworks could learn from Australia's In Store Retail Media approach, Australia is significantly further ahead in DOOH for retail media 2. There are much fewer RMNs but much stronger competition it will be exciting to see the innovations that will come from the need to intensely compete 3. RMNs in Australia have also leaned into the value of Agencies in this ecosystem and are collaborating in unique manners. Thank you team for the opportunity

#ThinkRetail2024 was a fantastic event last week, and I greatly enjoyed hosting #retailmedia leaders and agencies at Google's first #retailmedia workshop. Some of the key trends that emerged from our session include : 1. Google Properties (Search, Maps, YouTube) are the #1 resource consumers say they use for holiday shopping and Retail Media Networks are using Performance Max to reach shoppers across all three. 2. September to October sees more category searches on Google than branded searches and is prime time to gain category market share for suppliers 3. Google Marketing Platform SA360 retail media beta is growing in its adoption and solving #retailmedia challenges in managing enterprise marketing and vendor specific campaigns holistically. With Best Buy Ads and Albertsons Media Collective joining Lowe's Companies, Inc.in the Beta. Big thank you to Seth Hagerty from Best Buy Ads and Ewan Fisher for participating and adding value to the workshop
