What a week! Had the very fortunate opportunity to travel to Australia and participate in Google's first #retailmedia event in the market. Adrian Vallelonga Raphael Hodes and Laura Birchall curated a fantastic event with leaders across retailers, brands, and platforms in the space and provided me the opportunity to share insights and observations across the US market to consider as the Australia market creates its unique approach. I greatly enjoyed hearing from organizations like Coles360, Woolsworth, Reckitt and leaders in the Australian market Mike Tyquin Steve Geelan Paul Brooks Florence Paoli Martyn Raab and many others. On top of that I got to meet retail media celebrity Roger Dunn in person (definitely a highlight of my trip, his memes keep me and my team laughing) few observations on the market differences in this space: 1. The US #retailmedianetworks could learn from Australia's In Store Retail Media approach, Australia is significantly further ahead in DOOH for retail media 2. There are much fewer RMNs but much stronger competition it will be exciting to see the innovations that will come from the need to intensely compete 3. RMNs in Australia have also leaned into the value of Agencies in this ecosystem and are collaborating in unique manners. Thank you team for the opportunity
