🌱 It's high time ⏰ we dive into the budding topic of Cannabis Legislation, shedding light on the gray areas and creating a clear vision for the future. Today we hash it out. Shall we? • The Cannabis Industry 🌿: As dynamic as ever, it's rapidly transforming into a haven for new businesses, job opportunities, and medicinal research. It's trailblazing its path into our social consciousness. • Legislative Shifts 📜: It's ironic, isn’t it? What was once criminalized is now, state by state, being legalized and not just decriminalized. From coast to coast, a wave 🌊 of legislative change is sweeping through the U.S. As Snoop Dogg might say, It ain’t no fun if the lawmakers can’t have none. • Global Movement 🌍: Not only in North America but around the globe, countries are rethinking their stance on cannabis, turning a new leaf

Let's talk about the illicit cannabis markets in California and New York being the actual diverse markets. If that doesn't support that opening the market up by removing limited licensing, excessive start-up costs and burn rates, reducing barriers to entry, and cutting back on the very costly overburdensome regulations is how we achieve social equity, I don't know what does.

🌟 Explore the potential game-changing impact of reclassifying cannabis with our expert insights! 🌿 Tyler Beuerlein, Chief Strategic Business Development Officer at Safe Harbor Financial, discusses how cannabis has become a polarizing topic with the potential to sway voter bases. The Department of Health and Human Services has recommended reclassifying cannabis from Schedule I to possibly Schedule III, which could have profound effects on the industry. For instance, it could alleviate the burden of Section 280E of the tax code, allowing cannabis businesses to access normal business write-offs and significantly improve profitability. Moreover, expanding lending prospects become feasible as cash flow from the industry becomes eligible for underwriting. Can I tell you about one of the most surprising things I heard at Benzinga's Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago? Ross Gerber's morning address this past Tuesday. Professionally, kindly, and firmly, he reminded us about the connection between cannabis criminalization and Jim Crow law. The whole Benzinga audience. Bright and early. Day 1. Right before the audience set off on their busy days of meetings and networking, to make the cannabis economy move, at the conference 'where deals get done.' There was more to his testimony. However, I'll try to find the recording and share it once it's live so I don't mince any of the meaning. It was simultaneously a sobering reminder and a meaningful, hopeful message. Courageous, too. Mr. Gerber -- thanks for saying what you said. It made an impact. There was *a lot* of heavy-hitting information being shared at the Marriott Magnificent Mile in the time following. (I recommend attending at least one Benzinga conference to everyone in the industry). ICYMI, hot topics I heard on the Benzinga Cannabis panels: exciting developments in lending and data, intoxicating hemp compliance, supply chain AR solutions.... revolutionary stuff. Enough to make you excited about where the industry could be headed. Leave a comment if you want me to elaborate on any of these topics. I'm here for you! #CannabisIndustry #CannabisFinance #Inclusion

Unpopular opinion but… despite the recent buzz around federal cannabis rescheduling, my forecast leans on the conservative side. In my assessment, the path toward rescheduling remains tangled in complex regulatory, political, and public health considerations. I predict we are likely five or more years away from seeing any meaningful shift. As someone who’s witnessed the evolution of cannabis policy from ground zero, I've learned that regulatory progress often moves at a glacial pace—especially when it intersects with deep-seated societal concerns and entrenched federal structures. For industry professionals and entrepreneurs, this means continued navigation through state-by-state compliance and perhaps reevaluating timelines and investment strategies in anticipation of the delay. Adaptability and strategic foresight will be essential to thrive in this dynamic landscape. What’s your take? Will the rescheduling hurdles clear sooner, or do you foresee a similar timeline?" #CannabisIndustry #CannabisPolicy #FederalRescheduling #Entrepreneurship
