If I had to sum it up, my ultimate goal across all my work comes down to three things: 1) Amplifying the growth minded culture here to show candidates that Acosta Group is a place where people build long, fulfilling careers. 2) Helping recruiters streamline their processes, centralize information, and make their jobs easier. 3) Educating TA on innovative ways to attract talent to the company. 🌟 Just wrapped up an incredible P&G Commercial Masterclass on navigating business through uncertainty, featuring insightful talks from Alex Carnegie-Brown (Sales Senior Director) and Rob Langthorp (North Europe Analytics and Insights Director). This session covered: 🔹 Case Study 1: Led by Rob Langthorp focusing on the Wilko liquidation and how P&G navigated and managed this significant business challenge. It was fascinating to hear about their strategic response during such uncertain times. 🔹 Case Study 2: Explored by Alex Carnegie-Brown centered around a framework for commercial success using the example of Sainsbury’s. We delved into how past business models like BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free) evolved over the last 15 years. Sainsbury’s aim to shift to a business model with reduced depth in promotions while keeping the promotional price consistent was a notable highlight. The discussions on balancing retailer margins with customer pricing strategies showcased real-world applications of strategic agility. This masterclass was a powerful reminder of how crucial it is to stay adaptable, make decisions grounded in data, and work closely with partners to keep growing and face challenges head-on. Off to another really interesting day at the Category Management Association conference in Dallas, TX with Stefan Lewis from XGS.ai presenting his Career Path Analysis. Do you want to become a director in CPG or Retail? If so, how many roles does one have in their career before getting to the Director level? Seven roles seems to be the sweet spot - more than that and the chances of becoming a Director lessens with each additional role. Cross training helps build strong CPG careers!!
