Are you prepared? See how we did it 👇 The European Green Deal (EGD) represents a fresh approach to fostering growth within the European Union (EU), aspiring to shape a just and thriving society. The goal is to establish a contemporary, resource-savvy, and competitive economy that achieves carbon neutrality by 2050, while also ensuring that economic advancement is detached from resource consumption. The ambition for 2050 is to significantly diminish air, water, and soil pollution to levels that pose no threat to human health or the environment, while staying within the planet's ecological limits, ultimately paving the way for a pollution-free environment. Preparing for the European Green Deal (EGD) involves a multi-faceted approach, addressing both immediate and long-term challenges and opportunities. Access Naturals has already taken the first steps in order to be compliant by: 1. Staying informed on the Regulatory Framework and any updates or changes 2. Assessing current impact and compliance 3. Developing a strategic Sustainability Plan by setting long-term goals together with short-term milestones, aligned with the EGD's objectives. 4. Implementing sustainable practices such as the use of green energy, implementing energy-saving practices across operations, waste recycling and composting, sustainable sourcing and lifecycle assessment. 5. Use of new technologies that reduce environmental impact as well as digital tools for monitoring and managing environmental performance. 6. Employee awareness programs on sustainable practices and new technologies. 7. Monitoring and Reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) on sustainability issues and continuously improving by adapting new strategies and operations. 8. Stakeholder engagement in our sustainability efforts. #egd #europeangreendeal #cosmeticindustry #researchanddevelopment #ecofriendlyproducts #zerowaste #circulareconomy #gogreen #protecttheenvironmnet #naturalingredients Sources: https://lnkd.in/eaHSHdT8 https://lnkd.in/d9YGjcj4. https://lnkd.in/gVkyJpJx

🛑The traditional "take, make, waste" model is old news. ⏱️ It's time to rethink water management and embrace the Circular Water Economy (CWE). This approach treats water as a valuable resource, using strategies like rainwater harvesting and nutrient recovery from wastewater. Plus, it aligns with big goals like the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6) and the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. 🌱💧 ➡️ Why Embrace a Circular Water Economy? 💰Economic Benefits: Shifting to circular principles globally could unlock $4.5 trillion in value. 👷♂️Job Creation: In the EU, adopting circular practices could create 2.5 million additional jobs by 2030. 🌍Environmental Impact: Efficient use of key materials could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40%. 🌊The Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s ReSOLVE framework offers practical steps for businesses to integrate water circularity: ✳️Regenerate: Enhance processes to benefit the environment and capture valuable by-products. ✳️Share: Centralise water infrastructure and share knowledge to minimise water use. ✳️Optimise: Identify inefficiencies and adopt new technologies for smarter water use. ✳️Loop: Extend the life of products with embodied carbon to maximise economic value. ✳️Virtualise: Use digital processes to reduce the water footprint. ✳️Exchange: Explore alternative materials and use water as a service. While there are challenges like complex permits, changing attitudes, and upfront costs, businesses can overcome them by asking the right questions and leveraging the ReSOLVE framework. Through global collaboration with organisations like the WorldGBC, we can take practical steps toward a truly circular water economy. ➡️Let's transform how we manage water and build a smarter, more sustainable future. 📜 https://lnkd.in/eQzaUPwc #CircularEconomy #WaterManagement #Sustainability #Innovation #WorldWaterWeek #GinjoConstruction #WeAreGinjo #SustainableBusiness #SustainableDevelopment #EllenMacarthurFoundation #WorldGBC

The Importance of Sustainability for #SmallBusinesses 🌍 #Sustainability is not just an initiative; it’s our responsibility and our future. With over 90% of small businesses contributing to the UK economy, the collective impact we can make on reducing carbon emissions is monumental. Small businesses are the lifeblood of innovation, and it's time we step up to lead the change toward a greener future. At Multicultural UK, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, and we've taken concrete steps by undertaking Carbon Literacy Training. This training is helping us understand our environmental impact and how we can measure and mitigate it effectively. Whether it's through energy-efficient operations, reducing transport emissions, or adopting waste management solutions, we are actively shaping our path towards Net Zero by 2050. In a world where the UK has already reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 49.7% compared to 1990 levels, businesses like ours have a duty to continue pushing forward. Sustainability is not only good for the planet but makes smart business sense—customers, investors, and partners increasingly demand transparency and eco-friendly practices. At Multicultural UK, we believe that sustainability is achievable when every step is intentional. As the new legislative term begins in Brussels, have you seen our 'La Rentrée Checklist' billboards in EU area metro stations? With over 80 years in the EU market, PepsiCo brings valuable insights from our international experience and ambitious sustainability agenda. We’re eager to collaborate with the European Commission, European Parliament, and other stakeholders to shape impactful policies through open dialogue and constructive debates. Here’s how we see key priorities: 👩🏽🌾 Sustainable #Agriculture: We want to spread regenerative practices across 243,000 hectares of EU farmland. However, long-term investments with coherent objectives and harmonized MRV systems are essential. 🌍 #Climate Action: We aim to reduce our scope 1 & 2 emissions by 75% and scope 3 by 40% by 2030, reaching net-zero by 2040. Accelerated investments in electricity grid infrastructure are critical for decarbonising through electrification. ♻️ Circular Economy: We're aiming to eliminate virgin fossil-based plastic in all our crisp #packaging by 2030. Achieving this requires clear and swift implementing legislation following PPWR. 💧 #Water Stewardship: Our goal is to replenish 100% of the water used in our high-water-risk facilities back into local watersheds. A dedicated EU water strategy would greatly support this effort. If you're interested, we'd welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss how we can work together to drive sustainable progress in Europe.

ICYMI last week the Circular Economy Bill was passed 🎉 Dr Ania Escudero of Glasgow Caledonian University, HNC Research Leader Fellow leading the #HydroNationChair's mission on Embracing the Circular Economy, has reflected on this milestone in Scottish #policy. "We are delighted that Scotland’s Circular Economy bill has passed without opposition. This Bill includes measures to help Scotland develop a circular economy (CE), by increasing reuse and recycling. It includes publishing a CE strategy every 5 years, setting statutory circular economy targets, reducing waste, increasing penalties for littering from vehicles, making sure both householders and businesses get rid of waste in the right way and improving waste monitoring. This is a great step forwards towards a transition to a more circular economy and towards Scotland’s commitments on tackling climate change. The Hydro Nation Chair Research & Innovation Programme exists to support the water sector in Scotland in its push to Net Zero and beyond. Research and Innovation relating to the Circular Economy is at the heart of this. We strongly support the strengthening of policy and the increase in ambition in relation to the Circular Economy. However, recognition in the bill that water is a resource, which itself must be managed to prevent shortages and that the wastewater system has great potential for resource capture, treatment and reuse would have been beneficial in our push to Net Zero".
