The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force (IAF) are moving closer to becoming one unit when plans are announced to turn Mumbai into the country's first tri-service common defence post. This strategic approach, presently being discussed at the highest levels of the military hierarchy, is to bring all three services' operational capabilities, infrastructure, and logistics under one cohesive roof. Modernizing India's defence infrastructure is facilitated by developing tri-service common defence stations, which promote cooperation and resource sharing across the armed forces. These stations would improve readiness for operations and reaffirm the country's determination to attain seamless jointness in its defence system. #Navy Chief on a Three Day Visit to Greece #Greece is very important for India as it acts as a counter balance to #Turkey. Greece and Turkey have been regional adversaries in the #Aegean sea, both asserting claims over their borders in the Sea. We should not forget that Greece and India have common security concerns in the #Meditation Sea. India can help Greece in the field of #cyber security and Greece can assist India wrt merchant vessels. Greece can become an important partner in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor launched during India’s #G20 presidency. The other common areas of growth can be in renewable energy, infrastructure, #ports and #shipping, and logistics. The position of Greece is the world map is such that it has considerable dominance over the #mediterranean sea. It is also a gateway to Europe. Greece is member of #NATO and has a rich cultural heritage. India on the other hand is looking to expand trade ties westwards. India also is considering better #defence ties with countries that have similar ideology. The scope of defence ties with Greece are hence immense. Over the past few years, Greece has given importance to defence cooperation and military exercises between the two countries. Greece has always backed India’s position on the Kashmir issue. India and Greece have common concerns wrt maritime security and implementation of #UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. This law is being violated by Turkey and China in the #Eastern Mediterranean and the Indo-Pacific almost every day. It will be in the scheme of things if in the future India and Greece build upon the already existing defence ties. India can always look forward to export defence equipment particularly anti drone systems to Greece keeping in view that #Turkey has built an extensive Drone system which can be used to dominate various islands which are otherwise part of Greece. India can also seek help in ship building technology from Greece, as Greece has an age- old tradition of making boats and ships. A joint collaboration between #Mazgaon Dockyard and #Skaramanga shipyard can give Indian shipbuilding a major flip. Skaramanga has expertise in ship repair and maintenance. It looks like in the the future India and Greece can shape #Global #Geopolitics in a way that it suits each other's countries interests. Close ties between the two countries could be beneficial for both. Greece can definitely balance the negative sentiment that Turkey is trying to generate against #India at various international forums. Greece can also facilitate India's ambition to trade with #EU via its own maritime fleet and favourable trade routes that provide India exclusive access to #European Markets. This #IndependenceDay, I want to remember and pay tribute to the best of us: The brave and heroic soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces. It pains me everytime I hear a news report of a soldier being killed at the hands of terrorists. I take it as a personal loss. Every single time. So, this I-Day, I want a couple of things from our government for our bravehearts: 1. Give our forces modern weapons and protective gears, so that they can engage our enemies effectively. 2. Provide the IA, IAF, and the IN, along with the rest of the paramilitary forces with top-of-the-line ISR platforms. 3. Make R&AW, IB, DIA, and Directorate of Army, Air Force and Naval Intelligence more robust, tech-oriented, and accountable to authority. Intelligence failures cost lives. 4. Stop unnecessary delays in defence procurements. It shouldn't take 15-20 years to close a defence deal. Our enemies won't wait for us to get well-equipped before attacking us. Just because our soldiers are ready to die for us, doesn't mean their lives are cheap. As citizens, we must do everything in our power to ensure our armed forces get what they need to protect our motherland and come back home alive and well to their families. #JaiHind #JaiHindKiSena #HappyIndependenceDay #78thIndependenceDay #IndianArmy #IndianNavy #IndianAirForce #HarGharTiranga

As the Indian Navy has improved its command over the seas, China's military presence in the Indian Ocean has also increased. Let's discuss the security challenges faced by the Indian Navy and why an integrated security approach is necessary - https://lnkd.in/gh3c3Bzf #IndianNavy #MaritimeSecurity #Geopolitics #DefenseTechnology #seaport
