#USNavy to identify which #IndoPacific shipyards it can use in wartime Up to six repair availabilities requested in countries like Japan, South Korea and India. The U.S. military will carry out maintenance work on as many as six American naval ships at international shipyards next fiscal year if approved by Congress, aiming to keep up with China's naval capacity. If the military's request is authorized later this year, it would expand the use of foreign shipyards for such work on U.S. Navy ships and lead to certifying shipyards that match U.S. standards. Positive for Cochin Shipyard and Mazagon Docks.

#GovtOfIndia notifies the Inter-Services Organisations (Command, Control & Discipline) Act for enforcement with immediate effect. This clears the way for the creation of the long-pending Integrated #TheatreCommands (ITCs) that will bring more efficiency & jointness to the operations of all the 3 wings of the #IndianArmedForces. Until now, military personnel were governed by the respective service acts. Now, the ISO Act empowers #triservices military commanders with full administrative and disciplinary powers over the Army, Navy & IAF personnel serving under them without disturbing the unique service conditions of each individual service. This huge #MilitaryReform, employing resource optimization and strategic planning, will greatly boost the Indian Armed Forces’ offensive-defensive capabilities. It will also establish better #CommandAndControl structures, greatly augmenting #IndianMilitary prowess. #NewIndia

Plans are for the US military to retire these. That is absolutely absurd as is the intention of the US Air Force with the A-10. Instead, these aircraft should be turned over to the air National Guard and Air Force reserve as well as the Naval/Marine reserve. Furthermore volunteers that have retired from the military can assist in the maintenance of these aircraft. There is still a place for these, even though they are not stealthy, they can be pulled out of the reserves and air National Guard to be used in the time of warfare. Do you have spent billions and billions and dollars on aircraft and then just retire them to the boneyard is absolutely stupidity and a waste of our tax dollars , as well as a decrease in our capabilities. If I were president of the United States, I would sign an executive order to maintain these aircraft on a sideline basis, primarily with volunteers and reserves. Retired naval and Air Force pilots could volunteer as auxiliary. Furthermore, students in ROTC in colleges could volunteer to train and be back up as well. With a volunteer Force at state levels, essentially Militias these would serve ax security of the states. This would include other types of aircraft, such as helicopters etc. https://lnkd.in/gN4c3QeR

The U.K. civil service is far too large and dysfunctional. That includes local Government where they can’t even maintain the roads properly anymore and yet seem to require even higher Council taxes next year. What dya think Local Government Association? Instead of the cynical money-grabbing budget Rt Hon Rachel Reeves passed she should have announced a 20-40% cut in headcount across the UK Civil Service including local Government forcing them to focus on effective delivery, and nothing else. Boundary reviews could also help reduce the number of Councillors and MPs across the country saving further taxpayers money. At the end of the day it’s our money, not yours! #civilservice #servingthemselves
There are more civil servants in the Ministry of Defence than the combined number of personnel in the navy and airforce. Great letter in the Times today.
