I'm thrilled to share that I secured 12th place out of 500 individual entries in a recent competition, earning a participation certificate! My paper, titled "The Regulatory Maze: Obstacles in Social Enterprise Operation and Incubation," explored the regulatory and financial challenges faced by social enterprises (SEs) in India. The paper highlights: The lack of a clear legal framework for SEs, complicating taxation and funding. Burdensome compliance requirements that raise operational costs. Limited access to traditional financing and CSR funding. Proposed solutions like a distinct legal status, streamlined compliance, and a government-backed fund to support SE growth. By adopting these solutions, India can foster a more conducive environment for SEs to drive inclusive growth. #SocialEnterprise #RegulatoryChallenges #CSR #Inclusion #PublicPrivatePartnerships #Impact #Allianceuniversity

92% of Indian SME business leaders consider ESG as a high priority for their business compared to 83% across Asia. As revealed through a study conducted by DBS and Bloomberg Media Studios across six Asian countries, MSME ecosystem in India has the most favourable mindset to transform themselves into sustainable and responsible practices. Our close coordination and study across the key MSME clusters in India, helped us to realise the requirements for connecting the dots between all stakeholders of MSME ecosystem. A vast majority of MSME actors already have the inclination to adopt sustainable and responsible business practices, but what they lack is the information, skill, finance, and accompaniment in their journey to sustainability. It’s better not to forget that sustainability journey requires some level of handholding to the new joiners, so dissemination of information needs to be customised as per the requirements of people. Nature Responsive Finance for Sustainability (NRFS) believes that the ‘Net Zero’ goal is achievable only once we, make it a collective journey. Inclusion of a vast majority of people, who remains outside the movement. NRFS adopts language and MSME industry specific strategies to ensure sustainability journey, financial inclusion, and employment generation at community level. Please join the journey towards MSME sustainability in India… it just requires your participation and support to make this a concerted efforts by all: 1.
