A military tactic I use to this day. SLLS - pronounced SEALS. Stop, Look, Listen, Smell. This military tactic is the special operators' version of a hasty meditation that lasts less than 5 seconds. It's a professional pause before hitting the objective to utilize a majority of your senses and get a feel for the situation around you. It's a reminder to be present in any situation. Keeping Composure When Under Pressure… Had a great morning PT with some folks from 3rd SFAB. Training combatives teaches so many other lessons that transfer into real life. This morning we worked some choke holds. My role was helping some of the less experienced warriors understand the importance of keeping their composure when feeling that pressure. BREATHE. YOU’RE FINE. When you learn how to keep away the panic, you retain your ability to make tactical decisions and survive just a little longer. How often do you panic in real life?
