Collection Overview
Developing advanced functional nanomaterials is critical for tackling challenges related to global energy and environmental sustainability. These materials hold vast potential for revolutionizing energy storage, conversion, water purification, pollutant removal, and environmental sensing technologies. Despite the progress, many reported methodologies suffer from poor reproducibility due to a lack of proper visualization, making it challenging for researchers to replicate complex procedures across different laboratories.
This Methods Collection will feature established and innovative techniques for synthesizing, functionalizing, and characterizing nanomaterials, focusing on energy and environmental applications. It will encompass a diverse range of synthesis methods and advanced characterization tools that enable in-depth exploration of these nanomaterials. Additionally, it will highlight functionalization strategies that enhance the performance of nanomaterials. This collection will also cover approaches for improving material stability, efficiency, and reusability for practical application. These techniques will be demonstrated visually, utilizing JoVE's video article format. This will overcome common barriers to reproducibility and enable researchers to fully understand each method's intricacies.
The overall goal of this collection is to consolidate a wide range of methodologies that enhance nanomaterial performance, drive innovation, and accelerate advancements in sustainable energy and environmental applications.
