Wrapping Up 2024: A Love Letter to Late Bloomers Hey there, beautiful souls! You know that moment when you’re staring at your life and thinking, “Something’s gotta change”? Well, pull up a chair, because we’re about to have a heart-to-heart about exactly that. As I sit here in my new Melbourne home, watching the summer sunshine (yes, December is summer here!) paint everything golden, I can’t help but smile at how life unfolds in its own magical way. This time last year, I was in the USA, dreaming about a different life. Today, I’m on the other side of the world, building that dream piece by piece. Was it scary? Absolutely! Did I have moments of doubt? You bet! But here’s the thing about change – it’s like that first cup of coffee in the morning: initially daunting, but oh so worth it! I recently came across a quote that hit home: “Sometimes the people with the greatest potential often take the longest to find their path because their sensitivity is a double-edged sword.” Doesn’t that just speak to your soul? For all of us who’ve ever felt too much, thought too deeply, or worried that we’re running behind on life’s imaginary timeline – this one’s for you. Why Your Sensitivity Is Your Superpower Let’s get real for a minute. Being sensitive in this world can feel like walking around without skin sometimes. Every criticism stings more, every setback feels bigger, every challenge seems more daunting. But here’s the plot twist: that same sensitivity is what makes you amazing at understanding others, creating beautiful things, and seeing opportunities that others miss. 👇Read more https://lnkd.in/dmFRmujy

Finding Your Higher Power Through Everyday Inspirations "When grappling with Step 3—turning your will and life over to the care of a Higher Power—it's natural to feel uncertain, especially if the idea of a traditional Higher Power doesn’t resonate with you. In group discussions, I often ask: Who would you want on your cell phone that would always pick up and offer help when you're in need? One name that frequently comes up is Dolly Parton. While Dolly isn't a member of the recovery community, she embodies the qualities we often seek in a Higher Power—grace, unconditional love, and unwavering support. Her benevolence is like a wellspring, always available to care for those in need. For my sponsees, I like to get creative. I’ve crafted texts that blend the language of the Big Book with the essence of Dolly Parton, offering a familiar yet refreshing way to connect with the spiritual journey. I also love to include images of kittens and puppies—symbols of pure, innocent love. These adorable visuals help soften the sometimes-daunting idea of surrendering to a Higher Power, making it more relatable and endearing. So, if you struggle with the idea of a Higher Power, consider looking at figures like Dolly—someone whose kindness, compassion, and strength represent the support you seek. Step 3 is about finding your version of that higher love and care, knowing there is something or someone greater that will guide you, without judgment, just like Dolly (or a fluffy kitten!) would. Lean into that idea, and let it help you take that step."

Today’s Joy Notes is demystifying THE SEARCH FOR PEACE, JOY AND FULFILLMENT. We often claim to be searching for peace, joy, and fulfillment, but the truth is they already exist within us. These treasures are not found by endlessly scrolling through the world or comparing ourselves to others—they are uncovered by looking inward. Like a caterpillar that slowly transforms into a butterfly, you already possess everything you need to transform into the best version of yourself. The question is not whether you have what it takes, but whether you have the courage to uncover it and the fortitude to do the work to own it. To release what holds you back and embrace your inner peace and fulfillment, consider these steps: 1. Disconnect to Reconnect: Take intentional breaks from distractions like social media or external noise. Use this time to reconnect with your thoughts and feelings. Journaling or silent reflection can help you rediscover what brings you peace and joy. 2. Let Go of What No Longer Serves You: Identify the fears, doubts, or attachments that keep you stuck. Whether it’s fear of failure or the need for validation, practice releasing these through self-compassion and forgiveness. 3. Uncover and Embrace Your Inner Gifts: Reflect on your talents, passions, and what brings you a sense of purpose. Trust that these are your tools for fulfillment. Begin applying them in small, intentional ways to create alignment in your life. The journey to peace, joy, and fulfillment is not about finding something new—it’s about discovering and embracing what has been within you all along. Explore self and find your inner peace. #Wisdom #Ownyourworth #Peace #Fulfillment #Release #JoyNotes Today’s Playlist Church Doors by Yolanda Adams Ready to be Myself by David Dunn Still Standing by Monica Brand New Me by Alicia Keys The Need to Be by Gladys Knight

You find yourself on top of the world: love, wealth, travel, and dreams coming true. But then, life delivers a wake-up call, one with a countdown. What do you do? • Fear the future pain and suffering • Fear leaving loved ones behind • Mourn lost dreams OR DO YOU • Live in the present • Use adversity to achieve your dreams • Love fiercely In Chasing Life©, I share the deeply personal journey my wife, Desiree, and I experienced as we faced the end of her life. This story isn’t just about confronting death; it’s about redefining what it truly means to live. We carved out a life that wasn’t defined by illness but by how fiercely we could still chase life, even with a countdown ticking in the background. This isn’t a fairy tale; it’s not a neatly wrapped story of resilience. It’s raw and, at times, it was painful to write, yet it is filled with purpose, love, and the profound reminder that life, even in its hardest seasons, is worth every single breath. Truth: It is ultimately our response to adversity that shapes our lived experience. My journey with Desiree taught me that love, determination, and a commitment to living fully are essential. We learned to savor every moment together – every last drop. ON AMAZON: https://lnkd.in/dZqveJJ3 #love #breastcancerawareness #mustread #resilience #author

It's not about what other people think of you that matters, it's what you think of yourself. If they want to leave, let them.If they push you away, go. You weren't put on this earth to convince anyone of your worth. You're here to learn to create, flourish, live, Spread love and nourish. The ones deserving of you will always make you feel appreciated. ------------------------------------------------- It's so easy to get caught up in seeking validation and approval from others, but this quote reminds us that our true worth and value come from within. It's essential to focus on what we think of ourselves, rather than trying to convince others of our worth. The quote also touches on the importance of setting healthy boundaries and prioritizing our own emotional well-being. If someone wants to leave or push us away, it's okay to let them go. We deserve to surround ourselves with people who appreciate, support, and uplift us. The last sentence is particularly beautiful: "The ones deserving of you will always make you feel appreciated." This is a powerful reminder that we deserve to be treated with love, respect, and kindness, and that we should never settle for anything less.

The Idea of the Day: Rediscovering the Power of Dreams"It is never too late to be what you might have been." — George Eliot. I want you to think back to those passions and dreams you’ve put aside—whether it’s learning an instrument, painting, traveling, writing a book, or anything else that once made your heart sing. You might have told yourself that it’s not practical, that you don’t have the time or that it’s too late. But those desires? They’re not random. They’re reflections of something deeper, something your soul has been yearning for. And when you reconnect with them, even in the smallest ways, you tap into a well of joy and authenticity that is priceless. Following these desires doesn’t mean uprooting your life or making drastic changes. It’s about creating space, even if it’s just a little, for the things that light you up. It’s about honoring those childhood dreams, however insignificant they might seem, because they matter. They matter because they’re a part of you, a part that’s been waiting to be acknowledged and nurtured. When you allow yourself to pursue these dreams, something magical happens. You begin to feel more connected to yourself, more alive. You might find that other areas of your life—your relationships, your work, your sense of purpose—also begin to shift in a positive direction. That’s because when you follow the desires of your soul, you’re aligning with your true self, and that authenticity has a ripple effect on everything around you. So I invite you today to reconnect with that part of yourself. What did you dream about when you were younger? What made you feel excited and alive? Don’t dismiss it. Don’t tell yourself it’s too late or that it’s not important. Give yourself permission to explore it, to follow that inner desire, no matter how impractical it may seem. In doing so, you’ll rediscover not only a lost passion but a deeper sense of fulfillment and joy.
