More to celebrate! Colette Skruck recently had an internship with Cardinal Health. Briefly describe your major project(s) or tasks over the summer: Throughout my summer at Cardinal Health, I have been tasked with meaningful and challenging work as a Sourcing Analytics intern. I have developed data visualizations of customer rebate metrics for our stakeholders, reviewed rebate contract language for 20+ customers to ensure technical specifications and customer requirements are aligned, and ensured prior reconciliations with customers are properly documented. In addition to supporting my team, I am obtaining my Alteryx Core Certification to enhance my ability to make data-driven decisions. On our intern-led Communications Committee, I engaged with our other intern-led committees as the main point of contact to ensure clear and efficient exchange of information. As a Logistics Management major at Fisher, I have been interacting with Supply Chain teams both inside and outside of Global Sourcing to see what piques my interest and learn more about the business! What is the most important thing you learned from your internship? Ask questions!! Just starting out, absolutely no one expects you to know everything about your job and the company you work for. What matters is that you are engaging thoughtfully in conversation when you are able, and asking questions when you are not able. What do you think was the most critical factor(s) in preparing you to succeed at your internship? Throughout my time at Fisher, I have participated in various programs that provided real-world scenarios to supplement my learning. Programs such as Fisher Global Consulting: Corporate, STEP, and the CPG Industry Immersion, as well as the Logistics Management specialization coursework (looking at you, Doctor Castillo) provided me with business cases that didn’t just have one solution. Instead, I had to use critical thinking skills, both alone and in a group, on how to produce the best results. This is how it is in the workplace. Most of the time, there is no one right answer. It is up to you and your team to figure out what makes the most sense for your business.
