Sven-Goran Eriksson delivers final goodbye and how he wants people to remember him. 💔 “I had a good life. I think we are all scared of the day when we die, but life is about death as well. You have to learn to accept it for what it is. Hopefully at the end people will say, yeah, he was a good man, but everyone will not say that. I hope you will remember me as a positive guy trying to do everything he could do. Don’t be sorry, smile. Thank you for everything, coaches, players, the crowds, it’s been fantastic. Take care of yourself and take care of your life. And live it. Bye.” ❤️❤️❤️

What a humble man, he and along with the players gave me one of the best nights in football, beating the Germans 5-1 in their own back yard, what a weekend we had in Munich

We enter the world with nothing, we leave with nothing. It's what we do in between that counts but it must count for ourselves more than anybody else.

Sven is Swedish. They are a very proud and humble people. They have a great lifestyle, and love nature. Great inventors and very passionate. I only know Sven through the media, was he a good man...yes! Did he make mistakes, probably, we all do. But he is a gentleman, probably a very kind man. He loved England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 they deserved him. He is in no pain, but the horrible disease is still there. I hope he has more time left than he thinks. Pain free, and some pleasure left to live. Stay strong Sven, you are a good man!

Dreadful disease the research of which is also dreadfully underfunded. I saw my late Father die twice . First in the consultants room when the diagnosis was given to him and he realised treatment was futile and again in hospital 3 months later. I find it detestable, the money involved in the modern game ridiculous transfer fees and equally ridiculous salaries, part of which could easily be directed to save lives rather than ruin them, as it often does. Hopefully he will be sedated up to his eyeballs when his time arrives.

You only die once you live everyday ! Don’t count the days make the days count

I had an issue with Sven and his tactics for a long time, I met him once in 2002 at eccelshall (Englands old training centre) and I told him (in a respectful way), he sat down with me for about 15 minutes and explained to me and my stepdad about why he did those thing and what was going through his mind at the time. Absolute gentleman and absolutely knows the game I love.. looking back I might still disagree (I’m stubborn and don’t know as much as Sven so I’m pretty sure he’s right) but he spoke with knowledge, passion and determination, I’ve really had huge respect for him since that day and I’m so pleased he got to manage Liverpool in the end. When the time does come Sven, rest in peace, you deserve it.. you are a great man.

It is truly heartbreaking 💔 to announce to the world of your final goodbye. God bless you Sven and I too join the millions who accept your final wishes with respect, honour and dignity. You are a legend and will always be remembered as such. May God bless you and your family during these difficult times.
