Over on Substack this week, I am talking about comparison and how it makes you your own best worst enemy. We'll take a look at Saul's obsession with comparison (throughout 1 Samuel) and how he wasted so much time chasing David that he forgot to live his own life as king. Come join us for some kindness from comparison! https://lnkd.in/gsyVvH2k

Ecclesiastes 3 King James Version 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. THERE IS SEASON FOR EVERYTHING.

Whose son is this youth? 1 Samuel 17: 55 And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell. Saul was amazed by David's boldness and daring spirit in facing Goliath and achieving victory over him. He inquired about David's identity, to which Abner admitted he did not know. David's incredible feat set him apart and garnered recognition from both God and man. It is through remarkable works that one becomes distinguished, not merely through self-promotion. Instead of advertising your abilities, focus on doing exceptional work, and recognition and support will follow. Approach every task with excellence, as it is outstanding work that draws attention and praise. Be original, patient, and meticulous in your work, as the public values exceptional quality. Seek to do what you can do uniquely, without copying others, and allow your talents to shine. Embrace patience and commitment in your endeavours, ensuring that your work is error-free before presenting it to the public. It's the unique work, unspoken message, unsung song, unwritten book, or unreached people that God will lead you to undertake. Whatever work you find to do, do it with all your might. Your work should complement others' efforts, not compete with them. Cultivate a spirit of complementing, rather than competing, and strive for genuine need rather than a desire to impress others.

“The only power we have as human beings is the power of our perspective and to be able to change it. That’s a superpower everyone possesses.” I have watched this video maybe a dozen times and each time I do so through tears. Not just because of the powerful story of @Jeremy Renner and his resilience and determination but because the underlying power of his words and the support of a shoe company Brooks Running. The power of social media. Brooks Running saw Jeremy's story on IG of his accident and thought maybe they had a shoe that could help. Thats it. Simple. Powerful. Kindness. Jeremy Renner goes on to say: "Anytime people get scared, or they feel vulnerable or they may fail; whats the worst that can happen? Fail? Your failures are your allies, your superpower, your fuel. ....It is my duty to be better for myself and for everyone that has helped. me. He ends with: "Wherever there is for you, a new beginning, a dream, a goal.... Let's Run there" How can a sneaker commercial move me so? What does that have to do with me? It reminded me that taking the risk, Walking away from financial security, Leaning into the very thing I was running from, hiding from - the fact every system I was in was broken. That my own divergence meant I’d forever feel like an outsider. Being afraid of failure - doing it anyway. Is all worth it. I am proud of the leap I took. It is my duty to do whatever I can to continue to challenge broken systems and the status quo, my duty to do whatever I can to ensure as many people as possible do not have to go through what I or my kids go through to be seen, heard and valued. It reminded me that: “The only power we have as human beings is the power of our perspective and to be able to change it. That’s a superpower everyone possesses.” 🎤 Power of our perspective and our ability to change it. Thats it. #LetsRunThere Brooks Running #Inclusion #invisibledisability #failure #Perspective
“The only power we have as human beings is the power of our perspective and to be able to change it. That’s a superpower everyone possesses.” On January 1st, 2023, Actor Jeremy Renner broke 38 bones in a near-fatal snowplow accident. He was told by doctors he would likely never walk again. But his journey back to running proves you can never doubt the power of love, hope, and titanium. Hear how Jeremy’s resilience, both mentally and physically, transformed a life-threatening event into a life-affirming source of inspiration, as he explores how adversity can propel us towards our “there” — whether it’s a new beginning, a dream, or a goal. #LetsRunThere

Powerful powerful share by Jeremy Renner on our superpower of #perception. Our success or failure has everything to do with our perception. As I think, or speak, or act... #soshallitBE . What I think, say or do, CREATES.my reality. Thanks for the reminder and heart-shared inspiration @jeremyrenner . #Yourbodyislistening #Whatareyoutellingit #energyhealer #energyhealing #powerofperception #whatdoyoubelieve #CertifiedEmotionBodyBeliefCodePractitioner

Time is a precious resource that must be used intentionally and wisely. Here are some famous sayings and quotes to illustrate this: "Better three hours too soon than a minute too late." - William Shakespeare "The trouble is you think you have time." - Jack Kornfield "Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time." - Jim Rohn "Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin." - Mother Teresa #TimeIsPrecious #UseTimeWisely #PrioritizeYourTime #MakeTheMostOfYourTime #TimeManagementTips #ProductivityHacks #TimeIsMoney #LiveInTheMoment #BePresent #TimeIsNonRenewable
