Haiti is remaining in a long-standing political, security and humanitarian crisis. Last year, there was an outbreak of cholera. More than half of Haitians are chronically food insecure, and 22 percent of children are chronically malnourished. Over a third of the population lacks access to clean water and two-thirds have limited or no sanitation service. Gang violence and the cholera outbreak may keep over 2.4 million children out of classrooms, UNICEF warned. Our hearts are with Haiti. Our hearts are with the numerous people affected by the state of emergency measures, violence and insecurity. We are hoping and praying for stability and peace in Haiti. We are doing our best to continue working to foster health and development opportunities for the people of the remote Grand-Bois region. We need your help. Grand-Bois needs your help. Haiti needs your help. www.servehaiti.org 2024 "Health is Hope" fundraising campaign https://lnkd.in/ejnjz6Hu #ServeHAITI #CollaborateWithUs #MakeADifference #PartnershipOpportunities #YouCanHelp #Fundraising #Sponosrship #Partnership #impact #fundraisingeventhaiti #empowerment #bethechange #haiti #GrandBois #healthishope

Safaa Sleiman / I completely agree with this call for effective coordination in emergency response. The unfolding humanitarian crisis since October 7, 2023, in Gaza and southern Lebanon has highlighted glaring gaps in how we are addressing the needs of displaced individuals. While the Lebanese government and various international and local organizations have implemented emergency plans, the current lack of coordination has led to unequal and insufficient distribution of resources. People in collective shelters are enduring unimaginable conditions, with some not receiving even the basic necessities for survival. This disorganized approach is unacceptable when we have the means and the will to provide better care. It’s not enough to simply have resources or good intentions; we need a unified strategy to ensure that every person displaced by this conflict, especially those in remote and underserved areas, is supported with dignity. We must work together, leverage local initiatives, and amplify coordinated efforts to provide comprehensive aid. Our compassion and solidarity should translate into organized, impactful action. I stand with this call and urge everyone involved to prioritize coordination and inclusivity in this time of immense need. #TogetherForLebanon #HumanitarianAid #CoordinationIsKey #NoOneLeftBehind #HopeForAll

❗️❗️❗️ A Call for Effective Coordination in Emergency Response I want to express my opinion here, which may not be popular and might not resonate with everyone. On October 7, 2023, the war in #Gaza began, triggering a limited conflict in southern Lebanon. Since then, I've heard that the Lebanese government has put emergency plans in place, and various international and local organizations have developed their own emergency response strategies. All sectors at the national level have also prepared their plans. However, the emergency plan established by the Lebanese government has proven inadequate and ineffective, leaving many displaced individuals without shelter. The majority of those in collective shelters are living without even the most basic human necessities. As for the majority of international and local organizations, "chaos" is the best word to describe their interventions. While there are resources and services available, they are provided randomly and without coordination. Some shelters receive comprehensive services, while others don't get any assistance at all. This situation indicates a lack of a foundational plan to organize interventions effectively across all sectors. It's not too late for us to come together, reflect, and correct our course. Everyone has the will and desire to help, but without organization and planning, our efforts may be in vain. #Coordination is the key to resolving the chaos and ensuring that all our brothers and sisters in humanity, displaced from their homes, receive the assistance they desperately need throughout Lebanon, especially in remote areas. We must join forces, amplify the voices of local initiatives, and ensure that no one is left behind. Together, we can transform our compassion into impactful action, providing hope and dignity to those who have lost everything. #CrisisResponse #Lebanon #EmergencyResponse #HumanitarianAid #EmergencyManagement #Coordination #DisplacedPersons #CommunitySupport #SocialImpact #Nonprofit #Solidarity #LocalInitiatives #Hope #HumanRights #CollectiveAction #Empowerment #PublicHealth #CrisisCoordination #SocialResponsibility #Charity #GlobalSolidarity #Protection #ChildProtection #GenderBasedViolence #Shelter #Wash #women #children #AccessToJustice

Humanitarian response attempts face many challenges and obstacles, but despite all these challenges, grassroots and social initiatives such as emergency rooms, hospices, and charity kitchens - with the support of philanthropists and some organizations - continue to provide food aid to many citizens exposed to hunger and diseases resulting from malnutrition. We repeat in the campaign (A corridor that saves a soul) Calling donors, organizations and those interested for more support, and the Sudanese government to open corridors and facilitate procedures for the passage of aid, and to all parties to the conflict in order to facilitate passage, so that we avoid the catastrophe of famine #humanitarian_corridors_save_lives#humanitarian_corridors_save_lives

After recently witnessing the immense suffering in one of the world's most impoverished regions, I wanted to express my deep gratitude to the organizations and individuals who dedicate their lives to humanitarian work. Your tireless efforts in providing long-term relief to those affected by conflict, drought, famine, health crises, and displacement are truly inspiring. Today, I want to acknowledge the tireless work of organizations like Oxfam in supporting people suffering around the world. While Oxfam wasn't present in the specific region I recently visited, I know their commitment to the most vulnerable is unwavering. Their expertise in emergency WASH and other critical areas is truly exemplary. Oxfam's dedicated staff often find themselves in remote, challenging environments, far from home and loved ones, to provide essential aid and support to those in dire need. #humanitarianwork #globalissues #nonprofit #ngo #humanitariancrisis #Oxfam #WASH #emergencyresponse #crisisrelief #refugeecrisis #conflict #displacement #sustainabledevelopment

#Colombia: Our aid in numbers: In 2023, our efforts made a significant impact in Colombia 🇨🇴, reaching thousands in need. Behind every statistic is a life changed. ➡ 67,075 refugees and residents received medical treatment ➡ 823 people received food assistance ➡ 62,467 refugees benefited from our projects ➡ 32,752 children directly supported In La Guajira, the indigenous Wayuu people face challenges due to drought, poverty, and an influx of Venezuelan refugees. Many lack basic necessities and healthcare access. Through our MAP Salud program, we’re improving healthcare access through mobile clinics that are available for people residing far from conventional health access. We also foster dialogue among indigenous communities, local governments, and healthcare providers through these clinics. [Don’t miss the chance to 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝!] 2-year-old Asma has been following her mother on a 1️⃣ 5️⃣ 0️⃣-km journey before arriving at a camp for displaced persons in Somalia. They have not brought a lot with them, because they have already lost everything when all of their seven camels and 108 sheep died of either thirst or hunger in a persistent drought. “I am afraid my children will die from extreme hunger,” says Asma’s mother. According to a recent report published by UNHCR, at the end of 2023, 𝟏𝟏𝟕.𝟑 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 people were 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 worldwide, and almost 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞-𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 of them were living in countries with 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐭𝐨-𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬. From now to the end of August, by encouraging staff to skip a meal and donate its cost together, you are supporting World Vision’s work in South Sudan and Somalia, providing food assistance, medical treatment and water supply facilities for impoverished children and families in South Sudan and Somalia. As our gratitude for your corporation’s support, the 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 with the highest 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬, the largest 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and the highest 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 will be awarded. Climate Crisis Alert: 🚨 Last year, Afghanistan experienced one of the coldest winters in 15 years, with temperatures dropping as low as -34 degrees Celsius (-29.2 degrees Fahrenheit). As nearly 23.7 million Afghan need help and 48% of the population lives under poverty line, extreme weather events, heavy snowfall, and widespread flooding have only deepened the challenges for communities in Afghanistan. As the the communities recover from recent flash floods, a new winter approaches with forecasts of intense cold waves, Afghanistan is feeling the impacts of the climate crisis more than ever. Emergency support is a must to alleviate the suffering of those vulnerable to the cold and hunger this winter. #Afghanistan #Winter2024
VLOG: Charity Lukaya, Humanitarian Director Save the Children in Afghanistan: As Afghanistan prepares for a #severe winter, communities already facing the aftermath of flooding and ongoing food insecurity are bracing for even more hardships. Save the Children has launched an anticipatory action and emergency scale-up plan to support approximately 18,000 households across nine provinces. The plan focuses on providing support in health and nutrition, education, child protection, mental health & psychosocial support, and cash assistance to help families with heating costs and other urgent needs. Save the Children winterization plan faces a $4.2 million funding gap, with the Inter-Cluster Coordination Team ICCT winterization support plan estimating $1 billion is needed across aid organizations to address winterization requirements nationwide – Including the needs of more than 700,000 children at risk. #ClimateCrisis #AnticipatoryAction #ClimateChange #Afghanistan
