🍀 Cauliflower Cultivation Method 👉 Seedbed preparation: Grow cauliflower seedlings in seedbed. Make a 1 x 3 meter seedbed by mixing equal amounts of sand, #soil and compost. 7/8 days before transplanting seedlings in the second seedbed, mix 100gm urea, 150gm TSP/DAP and 100gm MOP #fertilizer well in each seedbed. If the seedlings do not grow properly, then sprinkle about 100 grams of urea fertilizer per seedling. After 10-12 days of seed germination, transfer the grown seedlings to the second seed bed. 👉Seedling planting: 30 days old seedlings should be planted for 3cauliflower cultivation. The row to row spacing shall be 24 inches and the row to 3plant spacing shall be 18 inches. Plant seeds ¼-½ inch deep 2-3 weeks before the last frost. Thin seedlings or transplants of cauliflower 12-18 inches apart in rows 2-3 feet apart. Avoid growing in #summer heat, as yield and quality decrease. #cauliflower #modernfarming #healthy #food #market #cauliflowerrice #cauliflowerbread #cauliflowerpizza #modernfarming #healthy #food #market #SweetPkin #greenlife #freenlife #farmerMe #grass #greengrass #farm #digital_farmers

Bud Break and Bloom of Walnut and Pecan: Similar Crops with Differing Habits Walnuts and pecans represent two of the four major nut crops grown in California. The California walnut industry dwarfs the state’s pecan industry in acreage, with over 300,000 acres dedicated to commercial walnut production and approximately 3,000 acres to pecan. The relatedness of the two crops has facilitated an overlap of specialization in the grower community, with many long-time walnut growers also managing the state’s pecan acreage. https://ow.ly/1Z7p50S2Giq #Walnuts #Pecans #TreeNuts #NutFarming

(USA 11.07.24) #growingproduce Field Scouting Guide: Eastern Black Nightshade. The article from Growing Produce provides a field scouting guide for Eastern Black Nightshade, a common weed in vegetable crops. Key points include: Identification: Eastern Black Nightshade is characterized by its broad, ovate leaves, white to purple flowers, and small, black berries. It can grow up to 3 feet tall and is often found in fields, gardens, and disturbed areas. Impact: This weed competes with crops for nutrients, water, and light and its berries can contaminate harvested produce, posing a risk to crop quality and marketability. Management: Effective management strategies include crop rotation, the use of pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides, and mechanical control methods like tilling. Monitoring and early detection are crucial for preventing its spread. The guide emphasizes the importance of integrated weed management practices to control Eastern Black Nightshade in agricultural settings. ----- [AG: Eastern Black Nightshade, known scientifically as Solanum nigrum, is present in Australia. It is regarded as an environmental weed in several regions, including Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory] ----- https://lnkd.in/g2ePNUC4

The soft fruit cultivation season is about to start here in Finland. Photo from yesterday 🍓. In the greenhouse it is easy to forget we have quite a lot of snow still in many parts of Finland. But inside the greenhouse you can already smell the spring 🌿. Now that the planting is starting or started already, it is good to remember what to consider when the plants arrive. 🌱Check the plants and report possible issues immediately to the supplier. It is really difficult to react if the claim is made when the growth season has already advanced a long way. This is my opinion as a former nursery worker. ❄️Remember, that as a grower you are responsible for storage of the plants in a proper way in the farm. The storage should not be too warm or too cold, depending on the planting schedule. Also, the plants should not be too wet or too dry. 📸Always take pictures of every phase during the season, also when the plants are inspected. It is easier to compare different years. If there are any issues with the plants, it is advisable to mark them somehow, so it will be easier to follow-up the growth. And finally this is a good time to start preparing season 2025 😅. So remember everything that could have been done better! #softfruitseason2024 #finnishsoftfruits #advising #consulting #softfruits #planting #spring #horticulture #finnishhorticulture

Soil preparation: Choose soil with good drainage and rich in nutrients. Tomatoes grow best in soils with a pH of 6.0 to 6.8. Plow the soil to soften and add organic fertilizer to provide the necessary nutrients. b. Sowing seeds: Sow tomato seeds at a depth of about 0.5 cm and at least 2.5 cm apart to give the plants space to grow. Keep the soil moist but not too wet, and provide enough light for the seeds to germinate. c. Seedling care: When the seedlings grow, prune them down to keep the distance between the plants by about 30-45 cm. Water regularly and check for pests regularly. d. Transferring plants to the garden: When the seedlings are large enough and the weather is stable, move the plant to a garden or large pot. Make sure to provide enough sunlight and support the plant with stakes if needed.
