The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued its final Phase 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) rule, which includes stronger greenhouse gas standards that phase in over the next decade. However, some in the transportation industry are calling the regulation "unattainable" and expect legal challenges to arise. The rule requires manufacturers to convert an annually increasing percentage of their total vehicle sales to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), with projected sales percentages for various categories of vehicles. By 2032, ZEVs are expected to make up 60% of light-heavy vocational vehicles, 40% of medium-heavy vocational vehicles, 30% of heavy-heavy vocational vehicles, 40% of day cab tractors, and 25% of sleeper cab tractors. How do you think this will impact the industry? #EPA #greenhousegas #ZEVs #transportation #environment
I believe our Fedral government has drank the koolaid…. And are trying to bring down our way of life… to the 3rd world level.
CNJ. A Better choice than EV.
This new Phase 3 greenhouse gas rule by the EPA definitely brings challenges for the transportation industry. It will be interesting to see how manufacturers adapt and innovate to meet these new standards.

8moEvery car dealer friend I know, complains about getting stuck with EV inventory they can't sell. I'm not anti-EV, I'm anti inadequate technology. For little cars zooming around a city? Great. Enjoy it. For hauling serious loads around the country in extreme weather conditions? I just don't think we're there yet. Maybe one day, but not with current battery technology. My prediction - SMRs are the key if we're going to go down this road. A nuclear powered Kenworth rolling down the highway ....powered for YEARS at a time - Now that's a cool future.
