Ag is not ready for this transition unless they address two critical issues farmers have to deal with: 1. Energy. Battery life 2. Maintainence/service/repairs. It’s streamlined with ICE tractors and with outfits like John Deere, there are very modern and high tech ways for subscriptions to part the farmer from their money. Regardless, there is an ecosystem. Electric tractors haven’t developed this eco system. More work needs to be done. The closest I have seen that comes what farmers will pay for to transition smoothly is Solectrac Electric Tractors and I have spoken to Mani Iyer about it..asking many doubts. But Solectrac is lighter and for smaller farms(in USA and Canada..they are perfect for the other production farms of the world because only in N.America is 1000 acres considered a ‘small farm’). However Solectrac hasn’t gained traction as much as I would have liked and if they gain market share, I would believe that e tractors have a future. Because these folks(and I have known Stephen Heckeroth from back when he was working on it and he had tried to address every angle of the challenges wrt the small farmer and the e.tractor) ..have jumped some high hoops to get the product to where it is.. Of course, for large companies like JD, there are no hoops.. in fact, they ARE the hoop. To me, (being in California and using ag conditions here as the baseline)Solectrac is the litmus test when it comes to adoption. So..summarizing.. 1. Energy. Batteries 2. Support/customer service.
Debate ⚖️ Are Electric Tractors the Future of Agriculture? 🚜⚡️ Today I want to talk about a revolution in the world of agriculture: electric tractors. 🌱🌍 Over the past two months, I've had the opportunity to test two of the e-tractors, and especially the Seederal Technologies prototype, and compare these results with my user experience on conventional tractors! And I must admit that my first impressions are surprising 🤯🔄 In the video below, you can see the noticeable difference in terms of noise. Full video available on the Future Farming YT channel 🎥🔊 While the Fendt emits a traditional engine noise, the Seederal Technologies operates almost silently, even offering some birds sounds and a more pleasant working environment within the tractor. ✅ The assets of electrical tractors seem clear - Ecological: Reduced CO2 emissions 🌿 - Economical: Lower fuel costs 🔋 - Efficiency : Simplified and less costly maintenance ⚙️ - Driving comfort: Less vibration and noise, reducing driver fatigue 🧘♂️ ❌ But on the other hand, some fears and challenges - Price: Higher initial cost than traditional tractors 💰 - Battery range : Operating time limited by battery capacity ⏳ - Infrastructure: Need to develop suitable recharging networks ⚡ Do you think agriculture is ready for this transition? What challenges do you think need to be overcome for wider adoption of electric tractors? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments ! Thanks Romain Hamel, Arthur Rivoal, and all the Seederal team for opening their doors, I am looking froward to see the next version of this tractor ! During last month's Celebration of Modern Ag on the Mall in DC, an international delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Tractor Test Codes planned a formal meeting with U.S. Department of Commerce staff, ANSI - American National Standards Institute staff, and a US delegation consisting of representatives from KUBOTA Manufacturing of America, John Deere, CNH, AGCO, the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory, and ASABE staff. The goal of the OECD group was to learn how ISO agricultural machinery standards are developed in the US and to discuss autonomous tractors and how to develop test codes for these products. #agriculture #machinery #autonomous #tractor #standards

Considering a tractor for your agricultural needs or simply curious about the advantages of diesel engines over gasoline? Dive into the benefits that come with opting for a diesel-powered machine. 1. **Greater Fuel Efficiency**: Diesel might cost more at the pump, but the higher energy content means better mileage. Yanmar’s engines are designed to squeeze out more power for each liter, ensuring fewer trips to fuel up. 2. **High Power at Lower Speeds**: Crucial for farming operations, diesel tractors maintain power across a range of tasks at lower speeds, aiding in consistent and precise heavy-duty work. 3. **Increased Durability**: With components that are built to last and less internal friction, these engines can take more wear and tear, translating into a longer life span for the tractor. 4. **Easier Maintenance**: The simple build and high-quality parts of diesel engines cut down on frequent maintenance needs and costs. What has been your experience with diesel vs. gasoline tractors? Do you find diesel tractors to meet heavy-duty needs better? Make sure to connect with us to explore our diesel engine options. 🚜🌾👩🌾 #Cropilots #dieseltractors #agriculturalmachinery #sustainablefarming #farmequipment

We've made it to the #TotYUtility category in the Tractor of the Year competition, for tractors from 70 to 150hp, with a four-cylinder engine and maximum operating weight of 9.000 kilograms. One of the key features of Fendt’s electric tractor, the e107 Vario, is the adjustable power output from the 100kWh battery. Depending on the operation, the driver can switch between Eco, which produces 50kW or the equivalent of 68hp; Dynamic mode for 55kW/75hp; or, for short bursts, the Dynamic+ mode which boosts the output to 66kW/90hp. When the battery runs low, there’s a choice of the 22kW AC charger, or an 80kW DC fast charger to get the tractor back to work as quickly as possible. The electric motors power the proven Vario continuously variable transmission, offering speeds up to 40kph. Automatic stop/start is integrated into the system to maintain charge, and standard equipment includes front axle suspension to maintain traction and improve operator comfort. #fendt #tractoroftheyear #agriculture
