❌ VCs won’t make your startup take off. ✅ Expertly designed pitch decks won’t seal your deal. ❌ Buzzwords won’t win over your investors. ✅ Big connections won’t guarantee you'll be successful. ❌ Advisors won’t do your heavy lifting. ✅ Networking events won’t magically open doors for you. You are responsibile for your own success.

It's been a whirlwind 🌪 of a week since I got back from New York for #Techweek. ✅ 12 calls with Founders I met to hear more about their businesses and what support they need. ✅ 3 follow up calls with VC's discussing options to intro Founders looking to raise. ✅ 3 calls with technology partners to understand what support they can provide the Founders and businesses I work with. ✅ A very large number of emails and LinkedIn messages received and replied to, following up on either meeting at events during the week or people reaching out as we didn't get a chance to speak at the time. ✅ Supporting existing clients with a number of key hires to support their ongoing growth. One thing is for sure though 💭...... 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚-𝙩𝙤-𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨. Regardless of all the tech available, from email campaigns to phone diallers to AI generated video outreach; nothing beats real face-to-face connection. Let's keep the connections real and if you want to jump on a call or meet face-to-face to explore what we can do for each other then don't hesitate to get in touch. #facetoface #relationships #startups #networking

What do you need to consider before becoming an Advisor to an early stage tech company? Have you ever wondered why some tech start-ups skyrocket while others stall? One key ingredient could be their advisors. Last week, I had the privilege of chatting with Ollie Sharpe, a powerhouse in the tech industry. With his experience as an early employee at LinkedIn and the first commercial hire for Salesloft in Europe, Ollie brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. He’s now building Lative and advising companies like trumpet 🎺 and Glyphic. Finding the Right Fit: Ollie shared actionable tips on how startups can identify advisors who align with their vision and goals, and how advisors can find the right companies too. Building Effective GTM Teams: Learn the profiles of individuals that can help drive go-to-market success. Ollie was incredibly generous with his insights, and I’m excited for you to hear all the wisdom he shared. 🎧 📺 Watch the Full Interview: Check out the link in the comments to dive deeper into our discussion and gain valuable insights! 💬 What are your thoughts on the role of advisors in tech? Every day, I'd feel that surge of motivation to work on my business. But when I sat at my laptop, I'd draw a blank. Sound familiar? Many entrepreneurs I've observed build their businesses on existing expertise or as an extension of their work. But for me, the next step wasn't so clear. My Entrepreneurial Attempts: - Expanding Client Base: Goal: Grow my pool of clients to hire waiting talent Result: No luck, back to square one - SaaS Product Development: Idea: Leverage my software dev skills Roadblock: What to build? How to find out? - Business Process Automation: Plan: Use code or existing software to streamline operations Challenge: No network, no audience to discuss with There I was, brimming with energy but left demotivated by the lack of direction. My breakthrough came through a combination of events: - Became active on social media sharing insights and connecting with like-minded professionals - Started building custom software to tackle my fiancé's document organization challenges - I knew I needed to expand my network Locally: Immersing myself in startup accelerators, incubators, and meetups Online: Engaging in meaningful DM conversations and interactions on social media These steps were my key to understanding the intricate workings of the business world. They opened doors to opportunities I hadn't considered before. I’m still in the 0 to 1 phase, but I'm grateful for the path I've walked and excited about what the future holds. How was your path to breakthrough?

Before starting TAM Acceleration I made finding a partner a necessity to start my first business 👇 Before even looking at the idea to implement Or at product-market fit I was looking for someone to build the business with As I considered finding a partner a necessary step to launching the business. ❌ This led to many failed attempts as in at least two scenarios, the startup failed due to incompatibility between me and the other co-founder. ✅ It was March 2023 when I was attending the TNW Start-up Conference in Valencia, and I asked one of the hosts for her suggestion on this matter. Her reply was: 👉 “Finding a partner is difficult. Go by yourself. Find people later.” Those words were strong at the time. Just imagining doing all that work myself seemed daunting. But here we are. Since then, and slowly over the following months, I stopped focusing on finding others And started focusing on doing more of what I wanted. And this is how TAM Acceleration was born. Now that the “Finding a partner is difficult. Go by yourself” part is done, What’s next is: “Find people later.” As that later moment, 14 months later, has come, this brings me to say that TAM Acceleration is looking to hiring! 👉 I will provide more information in the upcoming days and weeks. Stay tuned! – I’m Matteo Fois → follow + 🔔 Founder @ TAM Acceleration We build fully-engineered Clay-based B2B Business Development Systems. #B2B #BusinessDevelopment #TAMProcess

How to Compete for the Best Global Tech Talent? 🌎 Yesterday, I attended a super interesting event organized by Atlas where Luciana Viñas (Director of People at CookUnity), Paula Justo (Country Manager at Fudo) and Karen Serfaty (CEO at Atlas) shared their perspectives on navigating the competitive global tech talent market—especially for startups. 💡 Here are my top 3 takeaways from the event: 🔄 Start-up Talent Requires Flexibility: Early-stage talent must succeed in uncertainty, wear multiple hats, and understand that traditional career paths don't apply in that environment. 💼 Competitive Value Proposition is Key: People expect start-ups to offer a compelling value proposition similar to larger companies (enter Atlas that´s solving for this very nicely). 🤝 Networking is Essential: This has nothing to do with the content discussed, rather a reminder of how valuable it is to network (left the event with new connections and a few meetings scheduled). Btw, the food didn’t disappoint! 🥐 A huge thank you to Atlas and everyone involved for making this event so impactful! #TechTalent #GlobalRecruitment #Networking
