These are some fascinating facts about the Indian aviation industry that are worth noting. Did you know that in December 2023, domestic air traffic handled 13.8 million passengers? However, what's truly surprising is that more than 90% of the 1.4 billion people in India have never flown in a flight. The Indian aviation industry is set to implement new regulations from June 1, 2024. However, representatives from Air India, Indigo, SpiceJet, and Vistara are all trying to push back this date by a year. The Federation of Indian Airlines has noted that before implementing the new rules, they will require 25% more pilots, which may result in the cancellation of up to 20% of flights daily. It will be interesting to see how the Indian aviation industry manages to attract millions of potential customers while prioritizing the safety and security of passengers and pilots. #indianaviation #boeing #industryanalysis #aircraft #airplane #pilot #airportsafety #airbus

Oskar, thank you for putting this up. As fantastic as the fact is, it will face a few growth challenges. A couple of strategic questions need to be answered by all players in the Indian aviation. Nevertheless, I am convinced they will be answered. Our Lufthansa Consulting could definitely support. 1) MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) - Growing Demand: The Indian MRO sector is expected to experience a surge in demand due to the increasing fleet size, with India poised to become the third-largest buyer of commercial planes globally. - Market Expansion: The MRO industry in India is projected to grow substantially, reaching USD 4.0 billion by 2031, driven by rising consumer demand and fleet size. - Challenges: The rapid growth in aircraft numbers may pose challenges such as supply chain disruptions and longer lead times for parts. 2) Crew - Pilot Shortages: The shortage of pilots globally could impact Indian airlines, potentially leading to service reductions on certain routes and increased pressure on existing workforce. - Training Needs: Addressing the shortage through training programs and recruitment efforts will be crucial to meet the demands of the expanding fleet. 3) Cargo - Increased Capacity: The addition of new aircraft will enhance cargo capacity on passenger flights, providing opportunities for revenue generation during periods of reduced passenger travel demand. 4) Catering - Enhanced Demand: With more aircraft in operation, catering facilities may need to scale up to meet the rising demand for in-flight services and meals. 5) ATC Handling - Operational Challenges: The influx of 1500 new aircraft will pose challenges for air traffic control (ATC) systems in managing increased air traffic volume and ensuring safe operations. - Infrastructure Upgrades: ATC facilities may need to upgrade infrastructure and training programs to accommodate the growing number of aircraft. The introduction of 1500 new additional aircraft in the Indian aviation sector will have significant implications across various segments, necessitating strategic planning, investment in infrastructure, and workforce development to effectively manage the increased operational demands. India's prominent position in the graph "Net Number of Aircraft coming into Service in the next decade" is a testament to the country's significant role in the aviation industry. With the ambitious fleet expansion and increasing demand, India is setting the stage for growth and opportunities in the coming years. However, this also raises questions about resource efficiency and potential overcapacity in the aviation sector, a topic which is addressed by our consultant Oskar Wosiek in his article. It's important to consider these factors as we navigate the future of flight and aircraft orders. China’s aviation industry has been battered due to Covid-19 restrictions but has good prospects going forward simply due size of population, landmass and rapid industrialization. The introduction of the C919 certainly marks a milestone in Chinese aviation. […] China’s C919 jetliner is being showcased at Asia’s biggest airshow, as its Beijing-backed manufacturer seeks buyers for the country’s first homegrown passenger jet. Chinese state-run aerospace firm COMAC has touted the C919 as a challenger to the A320 and the 737 MAX, manufactured, respectively, by long-standing industry leaders Airbus and Boeing. The C919 made its inaugural flight outside China on Sunday at a media event ahead of the Singapore Airshow, which opened to the public for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. China’s Tibet Airlines said on the sidelines of the show on Tuesday that it had finalised an order for 40 of the narrow-body jets, which are designed to carry up to 192 passengers and travel up to 3,500 miles (5,644km). Air India Limited ..... has tough competition now, not only on the skies but on the Ground ...of #5hour #delayed departure. IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) Air India Limited My AI180 from SFO to BOM which was scheduled for 8.30pm departure from San Fransisco ultimately took off at 2.10 am of next day, i.e on 16 Sept 24. On that aspect #AirIndia can feel content that they did inform about the delay: but NOT ABOUT Carrying us on a delapilated and condemned aircraft, with no IFE and broken seats etc. Something is seriously wrong in this business. The main issue is that they seem to forget or rather neglect the fact that they carry #LIVING and #Paying passengers and they are NOT CARGO carriers. High time #Passengers get the #Priority lable rather than their staff. If the present tempo is continued, Airlines' prestige will nose dive and they may be grounded. Aah ...Airlines ought not have much airs about themselves. Their services (🤓🥺😂😁) can be easily replaced.

India Overflight Permit | [email protected] If you're an operator of a business jet or a commercial airline with plans to flyover India airspace, obtaining a India Overflight Permit from the India Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is mandatory. As a flight dispatcher, it's important to have a good understanding of the requirements for obtaining this permit, including the fact that the issuing of an overflight permit confirms that there is no political or security objection to your airline, aircraft, or country of origin/destination and that there are no outstanding navigation fees due to the ATC authority. https://lnkd.in/gfz7QtE

Emirates has joined the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Turbulence Aware Platform. It will also be the first airline to integrate the IATA platform within the latest version of Lido mPilot, the mobile navigation solution from Lufthansa Systems. Bringing these platforms together offers a wealth of data, combined with new technologies that make up-to-the-minute, highly accurate turbulence information and forecasts available for pilots, equipping them with the means to plot the best paths around affected areas for enhanced safety, efficient navigation, and optimisation of flight plans. In conjunction with the IATA Turbulence Aware Platform, the airline has equipped more than 140 aircraft with the required onboard software to automatically share turbulence reports with all airlines contributing data to the platform. All new aircraft joining the Emirates fleet over the course of the next few years, such as the Airbus A350 and Boeing 777-9, 777-8 and B787, will be enabled to participate in the programme.
