We need to rethink the concept of a Solo-founder or a Solo-entrepreneur. With the right AI tools and automation tools, Startup founders can do a lot more with a lot less, cheaper and faster. This requires very special founders, who I call full-stack founders - they can write code, do marketing, sales, fundraise and more than anything they can build a whole system around them that would amplify their strengths, and make them faster and more efficient. Building teams is magical, and that's a big passion of mine. However, we are in a tipping point where both venture capitalists and entrepreneurs should be critical, about what exactly they need to build and scale companies. Is this you trying to create the strategy you need? Even with an AI generated sixth finger, you’re set up to fail. Strategy involves major, hard to reverse decisions about where to focus your resources. Alternative choices can create enormously different outcomes. Because effective strategy requires creativity, exploration and knowing the details you must have time and mental energy to do it well. It can’t be squeezed into a jam packed diary. When I talk with clients about getting their strategy right it’s common that leaders don’t have the time or mental energy for it. In that case, start with creating the capacity for strategy rather than doing strategy. Aggressively delay, automate, delegate and eliminate work amongst those involved.
