Ministry is done as a team. It is the body of Christ in action. Thus we need to be careful toward forming, shaping, and being a team that is Christ-like. Do we hold others accountable and are we being held accountable? Are we character-focused or handing out power due to affluence and influence? These are a few questions this article wisely brings up for our practice.

I found this article to be a profound reminder of the critical role boards play in the health of a ministry. It speaks to many experiences that leaders and organizations may encounter and the importance of dialogue on these matters. This is a valuable read for anyone involved in leadership and governance. Let’s consider how we can all contribute to more resilient and effective organizations.

Jemar Tisby, PhD speaks a TON of truth right here! He also goes on to say: = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = When leaders of an organization undertake to promote racial justice internally and/or externally they often face resistance from their own constituents. Many times it is the most “fragile” white person or people who raise the objection. Change, especially racial progress, scares and angers them. They are the ones who say. That racial justice efforts are: divisive, woke, CRT, a distraction, etc. While the group is fragile when it comes to race they are often powerful. They tend to be some of the loudest and wealthiest people in an organization. So their opinions have an outsized influence. At this point many organizational leaders back down, slow down, or lay down and succumb to these fragile people. A new survey was released this morning by the American Jewish Committee (AJC) measured attitudes on #antisemitism both within and outside of the Jewish community. Among the findings: Roughly half of American Jewish adults say they have changed their behavior, including where they go or what they wear, out of their fear of antisemitism. A quarter have personally experienced targeted antisemitism. And 63% say that American Jews are less secure now than they were a year ago.
