🌟 Exciting News Alert! 🌟 I'm thrilled to share with you all about the incredible journey I've had driving a buddy program at Medibuddy vHealth earlier vhealth by Aetna. 🚀✨ As many of you know, employee onboarding and integration are vital for fostering a positive work culture and maximizing productivity. That's why I took on the initiative to spearhead our buddy program, aimed at providing new team members with a supportive and welcoming environment from day one. What exactly does a buddy program entail, you ask? 🤔 Well, it's all about pairing new hires with seasoned employees who can serve as mentors, guides, and friends as they navigate their roles and settle into the company culture. It's a fantastic opportunity for both mentors and mentees to learn from each other, build meaningful connections, and contribute to a strong sense of community within our organization. In the year 2017, I've had the privilege of coordinating this program, matching buddies based on their interests, skills, and personalities to ensure the best possible fit. I've witnessed firsthand the positive impact it has had on our new hires, as they quickly acclimate to their roles, feel supported in their professional growth, and forge valuable relationships with their mentors. One of the most rewarding aspects of driving this buddy program has been seeing the camaraderie and teamwork it fosters across different departments and levels within the company. It's truly heartening to see colleagues coming together to support each other and celebrate each other's successes. I'm incredibly proud of the strides we've made with our buddy program, and I'm deeply grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey – from the enthusiastic mentors who generously share their time and expertise, to the dedicated new hires who bring fresh perspectives and energy to our team. As we continue to evolve and grow, I'm excited to see how our buddy program will continue to make a difference in the lives of our employees and contribute to the thriving culture here. If you're curious to learn more about our buddy program or have any questions about implementing a similar initiative in your organization, feel free to reach out! Let's continue to support each other and create inclusive, supportive workplaces where everyone can thrive. 💼🌟 #employeeengagement #Onboarding #WorkplaceCulture #Mentorship #Teamwork

Joining a new company can be exciting—and challenging. A strong start can make all the difference, not only in understanding the role but also in building a sense of belonging. It's important to consider what truly makes an onboarding experience memorable and valuable. Beyond the formal introductions and processes, small, thoughtful gestures can often stand out the most and help new team members feel they’re part of the team from day one! What’s one simple thing a company did (or could do) to make you feel welcomed from the start?

How long should the ideal onboarding be for a newbie on your team? Aleksandra Porobic and I shared some thoughts on this in the video below! Onboardings should come in 2 parts; the company onboarding and the role-specific onboarding. The first week of onboarding would set the foundations for the second week which will include enablement on role-specific tasks. In addition to the onboarding you should also consider: 1. Pre-boarding: setting expectations for the onboarding before the employee begins work 2. Progress reviews: after onboarding, have regular check-in to monitor progress and identify any blockers along with getting feedback! #onboarding #enablement #omnipresent

Having a great time learning how to protect our customers with the world's best security platform.
I am so proud of our new hires who are taking part in our first ever 10 week onboarding program. We are spending two weeks at HQ together with our global team and it has been so wonderful meeting them and seeing them build strong relationships and friendships as they go on this immersive and very rigorous journey. Thank you to Nikesh Arora, BJ Jenkins, Anand Oswal and Kumar Ramachandran for kicking off our first in person day. Thank you to the team who created this led by Tia Catherwood, Brianne Ross & Onica Patalive. And a special thank you to all of the SMEs that helped make this a reality. Well done! #paloaltonetworks #onboarding #teambuilding #newhires

Even the coolest perks don't replace the feeling of being well-integrated into a team. 🤝 In fact, one of the biggest reasons people leave us is poor team integration. So we had a realization: relationships are key. To improve this, we've implemented several initiatives: ➡️ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 We start people together rather than individually, which makes it easier to share experiences and face common challenges. ➡️ 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 We create opportunities to get to know each other beyond professional roles. ➡️ 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 Onboarding is a team effort. Each new member is introduced not just by HR but also by the teams they'll be working with. 🤷♂️ It’s not perfect, that’s for sure. For example, we put the "mentorship" system on hold because it relied too much on the mentors' involvement. But we keep learning, refining, and improving our processes so that every newcomer feels the team vibe from day one! 😎 🔍 And you, what's your secret for integrating new recruits?

🌟 From Newbie to Welcoming Committee: My Onboarding Journey 🌟 📝 Joining a new working environment is like stepping into a whole new world. The excitement is mixed with a touch of nervousness. Sound familiar? As a newcomer, I always felt the jitters of navigating a fresh environment, learning new processes, and meeting unfamiliar faces. Fast forward to today – I’m no longer the newbie at PMI. Instead, I’ve become a part of the company’s onboarding program. 🤝 Why joining the welcoming committee for new hires? Because I remember exactly how it felt to be in their shoes and how important it is to have some friendly faces around right from day one. Let me show you my approach to inviting company’s newcomers: ➡️ Personal Connections: When a new colleague shows up, I make it a point to introduce myself. But no stiff handshakes here – just genuine smiles and a warm welcome. We firstly chat about non-work-related stuff – interests, hobbies, and even weekend plans. It’s amazing how these small conversations build bridges. 😊 ➡️ The ‘Ask Me Anything’ and ‘You’re Not Alone’ Vibe: I emphasize that they can ask anything and – my favorite saying – that there are no stupid questions. Whether it’s about the company culture, what to pick from our cafeteria menu (or what to avoid 😄), or decoding corporate acronyms. No one should feel lost or alone. 🙌 ➡️ Coffee Breaks Matter: Coffee breaks aren’t just about caffeine, right? They’re about building relations. It’s good to invite new team members for a quick coffee run or a cozy chat in the break room. It’s during these moments that we bond beyond work tasks. ☕ ➡️ Beyond Work: Last but not least, let’s not forget that colleagues are humans first. So, use every opportunity for team outings after work. It’s about building friendships, not just professional connections. 🎉 💡 So, what are your strategies for making a new colleague feel like part of the community? Share your thoughts below! 👇 #pmichallenge #makehistory #pmi #onboarding
