How long should the ideal onboarding be for a newbie on your team? Aleksandra Porobic and I shared some thoughts on this in the video below! Onboardings should come in 2 parts; the company onboarding and the role-specific onboarding. The first week of onboarding would set the foundations for the second week which will include enablement on role-specific tasks. In addition to the onboarding you should also consider: 1. Pre-boarding: setting expectations for the onboarding before the employee begins work 2. Progress reviews: after onboarding, have regular check-in to monitor progress and identify any blockers along with getting feedback! #onboarding #enablement #omnipresent

Talk to me people... We all feel it... 🚀 Onboarding frontline workers is no small feat. Companies everywhere face mounting challenges as they try to keep up with high turnover, manual processes, and dispersed workforces. Did you know? 💼 📊 69% of frontline managers say onboarding is a “make-or-break” moment for new hires’ productivity and retention. 📆 Manual onboarding can take up to 12 hours per employee—adding strain on HR teams and slowing down readiness for new hires. ⏳ For every day lost to inefficient onboarding, companies risk up to 25% lower productivity in the first 90 days of hire. https://lnkd.in/gsXRnAE6

Why I advocate the need for a great onboarding experience within a company? A good onboarding plan is not just to familiarize the newbie to the company. It's not about their level of comfort. It directly converts to great business for you. How? 1. Quicker Team Assimilation 2. Encourages Conversation 3. Lesser Gatekeeping - Faster Knowledge Transfer 4. Quicker Grasp on Processes 5. Establishes Point-of-Contact for Every Role 6. Smooth Goal Orientation 7. Service/Product Ownership & Accountability Establishment 8. Structures Learning The faster and quicker this happens, the more profitable you become as a business, because new hires learn the ways of the business in-no-time. If you don't do this as an empathetic human, at least do it as a profitable business person. #onboardingprocesses #employeesatisfaction #growingbusinessprocesses

Shadowing alone does not equal training, and assigning mentors without proper compensation or guidance is not an effective strategy. While both can be valuable when done right, neither replaces a structured onboarding process and formal training for new hires. Investing in efficient processes that set your teams up for success is crucial. Let's work together to develop streamlined, effective onboarding systems that empower your staff and ensure lasting success. #UniqueConsults #OnboardingSuccess #TeamEfficiency #EmployeeDevelopment

Ensuring a smooth onboarding experience is key to helping new team members hit the ground running and shaping their impression of the company both when they start and down the road. Not sure if you’ve got it covered? Quick checklist: ✔Do they have all their tech set up ready to go? ✔Do they know who their teammates & key stakeholders are, and have YOU introduced them? ✔Does the team know they’re joining and where they sit in the team? (and does your new starter know?) ✔Have you gone through ways of working and company norms for communication channels? ✔Have you got their first week planned for them? ✔Have you set expectations for the first 3-6-12 months (or whatever timeline you expect them to be at certain stages). ✔Who is the best person they can go to for help if you aren't around? ✔Are you able to assign a a mentor or buddy to help the new hire acclimatise to the company culture and job? Investing the time at the beginning is worth it's weight in gold to get the best out of a new starter. #employeeexperience #onboarding

No matter how talented someone is, they are not going to have the context of your company and knowledge of what is expected of them if they do not have a complete onboarding experience.
