🌟 Lessons from the Viva Experience! 🌟 On November 9, I faced one of those classic nerve-wracking moments – my Cloud Computing and RMT Viva! As I prepped, I had this realization: everything I’d been studying and sharing on LinkedIn over the past months, from AWS basics to key cloud concepts, was suddenly coming together. The twist? the viva is not easy when the person taking it is an external that too from #SPPU . It wasn't just about “knowing the material” – it was about sharing it in a way that made sense under pressure. 💡 Lesson Learned: "Mastery is when you can explain the complex simply – even when it’s on the spot." This experience taught me the value of learning by doing and sharing what I know. Highlight of the day ☀ This afternoon I attended a vibrant discussion by Silicon Overdrive on AWS Containerization. Zipporah Wachira started the discussion by explaining characteristics and benefits of containers, using the analogy of shipping containers. She also explained different use cases for different container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. Gareth Bowers explained the best practices and tips for deploying containers. They also gave their perspective on the Certification vs No Certification debate. While certificates might get your foot in the door, it is important to seek practical learning experiences. It is important as a beginner Cloud/DevOps engineer to invest in continuous learning, and embrace the journey, especially the mistakes as they are inevitable, but they make us better. I am grateful for an afternoon well spent with Silicon Overdrive learning more about containerization. #AWS #Containers #ContinuousLearning

I recently completed the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE): Beginner to Pro course via A Cloud Guru / Pluralsight. This comprehensive training covered everything from container basics to advanced GKE operations, including creating clusters, deploying applications, managing health checks, autoscaling, and securing GKE clusters. Finally! After 28 days of journey, thrilled to announce that I have completed the Certified Kubernetes Administrator course by KodeKloud. Big thanks to Mumshad Mannambeth for letting me deep dive into the course that includes mostly all the topics that one needs to be a Kubernetes Administrator. Why you need to take this course? 1) The course is explained in a very detailed format mostly covering each topic. 2) Advanced topics like Network Policy, Ingress Controller, backup of etcd cluster, managing and upgrading of clusters and much more are explained in detail ensuring the learner is new to each of them. 3) Lastly but not the least after every topic labs are provided to get familiarize what we learnt from those topics #cka #kubernetes #administrator #devops #cloud #pods #services

Now that I’ve achieved the CKAD, I’ve decided to go for the CKA and CKS Kubernetes certifications. I think now is the best time to pursue them since the information is still fresh in my head.
