Since it’s been a while I played around kubernetes, Today, I configured an azure kubernetes service using the azure cni overlay network because I want to keep connection private. I created a deployment yaml file that has an nginx image and 3 replicas. After the file was created, I used the file to create the deployment. Below are some simple commands you can use to begin your journey in kubernetes. kubectl get pods (this would show you all pods) Kubectl get deployments( this would show you deployments) Kubectl describe service(this would show your cluster ip, target port and all information about the service.) #AKS #Kubernetes #Azure #Cloud #Devops #Docker #Container

Now that I’ve achieved the CKAD, I’ve decided to go for the CKA and CKS Kubernetes certifications. I think now is the best time to pursue them since the information is still fresh in my head. #Docker #tip To add your current user to the Docker group, use the following command: usermod -aG docker $USER # Replace with your username e.g ‘ubuntu’ When docker installed on docker host machine there is a docker group created, adding your current user to the Docker group allows you to run Docker commands without needing to prepend sudo. This can make using Docker more convenient and efficient. #devops #cloud #aws #gcp #azure

One more step in the cloud journey! Thrilled that I’ve earned the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (003) Certification which was my last goal to end Q2. Really enjoyed learning Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. After creating a VPC, 6 subnets, internet gateway, etc in the AWS Console, destroying it and then recreating it using Terraform, I quickly realized the benefits of IaC. I just completed the Terraform Associate Certification course Taught by Vijin Palazhi at KodeKloud. What I loved most was the focus on attention to detail, especially when prepping for the certification. The exercises were super helpful for filing in on the best answers among several options. It’s a skill that’s actually pretty crucial for passing the exam! Plus, I got to dive deep into cool concepts like remote state management, dynamic blocks, and Terraform Cloud. I feel way more confident about applying everything in real-world situations now. Overall, it really highlighted how important precision is when working with Terraform in production. Can't wait to take the Terraform Associate certification exam! #terraform #cert #preparation
