With content becoming commoditized by generative AI and Google now addressing generic queries through AI overviews, coupled with the impact of core SEO updates like the Helpful Content update, those with generic skills may face tough times ahead. As I mentioned in my previous post, the key differentiator moving forward will be a diverse skill set focusing on strategy. It’s important to note that many people confuse tactics with strategy. Tactics can be easily copied and replicated, but strategy is much harder to duplicate. For companies, the focus will be on branding and positioning, while for individuals, it will be cross-disciplinary expertise.
