You’ve got a powerful message that can change lives, transform businesses, or inspire action—but no one’s hearing it. You’re putting out content, trying to get booked, and chasing opportunities, but the crowds you need are nowhere to be found. It feels like shouting into the void. The truth is, your message deserves better. You should be standing in front of packed rooms filled with people hungry to hear what you have to say—people ready to take action, invest, and grow because of your words. Every day you’re not in front of that crowd is a missed opportunity to create the impact you know you’re capable of. That’s where I come in. I specialize in putting speakers in front of hungry crowds—audiences that are primed, engaged, and ready to buy. If you’ve got a message that the world needs to hear, don’t let it go unheard. Send me a message now, and let’s make sure your voice reaches the right crowd.

I wrote about where to find signature stories to support your message (and why talking about the most famous brands and individuals can really hurt your cause). If you're an expert or entrepreneur, having these back-pocket stories elevates your communication power. It conveys your message in ways that stick and stay. It sparks action from others. And it's just a more ENJOYABLE way to communicate for storyteller and audience alike. https://lnkd.in/eqUJ54HW

We have all experienced incredible speakers present. But what 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 from the rest? I believe it is their ability to: Be 𝘃𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. Bring themselves into it. Be personal. Bring your passion. Be 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. Not only know your audience, but find ways to connect with them. Be 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴. Able to 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵 with the audience, 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘸 them in, 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘦 them to participate, rather than being a passive witness. Be of 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. Provide concrete, actionable takeaways. Provide tangible ways for the audience to implement the ideas in their own life. A great speaker isn't just heard. They are 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 and 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥. ______________________________________ Interested in becoming a more engaging presentor? I love helping people get started. Let’s chat! From dream to vision to success. The way you speak about your expertise is just as important as what you say. 🗣️✨ Don’t let simple mistakes undermine your credibility. Here are a few traps to watch out for: Monotone 🔄: Even the best ideas lose impact if they’re delivered flatly. Vary your inflection. Speed-Talking 🚀: pacing keeps listeners engaged. Try changing the pace - go slower and then faster. Mumbling 🤐: Clarity shows confidence. Remember, your voice is a major asset. Use it to project the authority and insight you already have. Still not sure? DM me for help.

Last week, I brought one of my favorite humans—my dad, aka my Chief Curiosity Officer—to a roundtable chat with Ken Burns at the National Press Club. Ken Burns doesn’t just dig up history; he resurrects it. Dates, documents, and dusty photographs transform into vibrant, emotional journeys. Whether he’s exploring the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, the heartbreak of the Civil War, or the rhythm of jazz, Burns doesn’t just inform us—he connects us to the human spirit. As a storyteller myself, I left inspired and reflective. Here’s what anyone with a message can take from his craft: ✨ The Power of Many Voices: Burns assembles a symphony of perspectives—narrators, quotes, visuals, and experts. The result? A story richer than any single voice could achieve. Are we bringing enough harmony into our messaging? ✨ Emotion Over Information: Facts are essential, but they’re the bones, not the heart. Burns masterfully shows that real stories about real people forge connections facts alone never will. Are we leaning into humanity in our narratives? ✨ Slow and Steady Wins the Audience: In a world chasing virality, Burns proves the beauty of deliberate storytelling. Sometimes, the silence between words is where the power lies. Are we giving our audiences a moment to breathe, absorb, and reflect? ✨ Relevance Through Reflection: Burns’s stories may live in the past, but their impact is firmly in the present. They force us to see ourselves in history’s mirror. Are we weaving today’s relevance into our work? Ken Burns reminded me that stories don’t just happen—they’re sculpted, layered, and shared with care. The best ones don’t speak to us—they resonate within us.

As a parent I tell my kids they can be whatever they want to be. It was something I didn't hear growing up. I tell them to follow their dreams, be creative, value art over convention. You get one life. Life could be tough when I was a kid; there were other priorities, so I was never really given that message. And so I started the conventional route of studying business and finance before discovering my passion for writing and communication, which led me to switch lanes and never look back. I think the fact that I’ve woven in and out of self employment in my life is my way of saying I can’t accept the template way of doing things - the 9-5, what can sometimes feel like the limited and boring burn of life. My husband is a writer and musician. We started with very little. It helps that he too isn’t a conventionalist. Many of our friends aren’t either. It’s not always easy, but they’ve forged their own path. So in many ways, it was staring me in the face, who my customers would be in my online business. They’re people who have followed their hearts into creative careers. I know this world because I’m part of it. This is such a powerful quote from Elizabeth Gilbert. I keep it in my mind whenever I find myself in doubt. What inspires you in life? What has led you to take the path you have? And I've got to ask this - did you see Coldplay at Glastonbury? I've never seen them live in person but blimey I was blown away. Until then I'd always thought Iggy Pop's stage invasion was the best thing I'd ever seen at Glasto. #creativelifehappylife #creativelife #followyourpassion #digitalproducts #digitalmarketing #elizabethgilbertquotes

Focusing your online presence on the value you provide, rather than simply following trends, is the key to sharing your message authentically. Back in early 2024, I had a conversation with Marti Angel,™ M.ED, FDN, where I shared my journey. I tried different methods to connect with my audience, but many of them just didn’t feel right. It wasn’t until I focused on providing real value—rather than jumping on trends—that I found confidence in my message. And the responses I received reflected that shift. 🙌 It’s totally fine to try out fun and trendy things—I still do sometimes! It keeps the creative juices flowing and adds a bit of fun to the mix. 🎨✨ Remember, building your online presence doesn’t mean sticking to a rigid format. It’s about sharing your creativity in a way that aligns with your values and resonates with your audience. 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐎𝐔? Ever had someone tell you 'My people wouldn't need that?' Here's what happened to me: I was at an event when another CEO boldly declared their members would never need my content. Little did they know. The truth is, you never know who needs your message. Some of our most engaged members are retired educators - people you might not expect! Life has taught me one thing: Assumptions about your audience can cost you meaningful connections. The moment you think you know exactly who needs (or doesn't need) what you offer is the moment you start limiting your impact. #BusinessTips #EntrepreneurMindset #EducationSector

Unpopular opinion: I actually like blank connection requests. Yup, no message, no fluff—just a straight connect. Honestly, I prefer it over the scripted messages we’ve all seen: 1. The “Personal” Pitch "Love what you do! Let’s connect and chat." (But they have no idea what I do.) 2. The Hidden Agenda "You’re doing great work, [Name]. Are you happy with [insert sales pitch]?" 3. The Pitch Parade "I’ve helped 3 million people 10x their income. Want to be next? Book a call here." 4. The All-About-Me "Hey [Name], I’m a rockstar [whatever] on a mission to [save the world]. Check out my TEDx talk!" Here’s my approach: If your content resonates, or if my posts are up your alley, hit connect. No message needed. For me, blank requests often lead to real connections, clients, and even friends. So unless there’s something truly genuine to say, let’s skip the forced small talk. What do you think—are blank requests the way to go?
