🌊 🌱 TotalEnergies and Equinor are teaming up with Techouse AS and SINTEF Energy Research on a groundbreaking decarbonization project aimed at retrofitting offshore installations with innovative combined cycle technology. The project’s goal is to develop a compact once-through steam generator (OTSG), which could boost power output by 30-33% while cutting emissions by up to 150,000 tons annually per installation. As Techouse CEO Svein Helge Pettersen noted, “This joint industry project will make our OTSG even lighter and smaller so that it can be installed on even more offshore installations.” 🚢💨 With a budget of over NOK 60 million and a target completion date of 2025, this project signifies a major step toward cleaner energy in offshore operations. 🔋✨ Pål Kloster, Sales and Business Development Director at Techouse, emphasized the importance of this lightweight solution: “A smaller lightweight solution will increase the likelihood of adaptation of CCPP on offshore installations.” This initiative has received NOK 12 million in funding from the Norwegian Research Council and could lead to a significant reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions. 🌍🌟 #RenewableEnergy #Decarbonization #OffshoreInnovation #TotalEnergies #Equinor #Techouse #SustainableFuture https://lnkd.in/gHXj7FGU

In a previous post I mentioned that I recently spoke at the Equinor AGM, advocating for a shift from oil and gas to renewable energy investments. Last week I emphasized on community stakeholder models and public shareholder policies. The Norwegian government owns 67% of the company and has shown resiliency and growth with dividends and revenues over the past decades. But, with just a 1% investment in renewables, there's significant potential for growth, and to restructure the future of energy industries here in Canada and our province. I emphasized on global divestment of oil and gas production in hindsight of new technologies and labour markets, as well as the increasing global temperatures that relate to oil and gas extraction. I noted that it was vital to preserve our oceans and fishing/aquaculture sectors, while encouraging continued focus on sustainable projects, acquiring necessary technology/training, and innovating new models of success engage in energy democracy, to reduce carbon footprints, and to contribute to a shared economy while reducing waste during renewable energy production. #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #SharedEconomy

Earlier this week, Cyan Renewables was featured in Lianhe Zaobao 联合早报, highlighting Cyan’s journey of rapid growth to become the largest offshore wind focused vessel platform in the APAC region. Cyan’s team has a strong track record supporting offshore wind farms in Europe and the strategic acquisition of Sentinel Marine Ltd further positions Cyan to support the growing European offshore wind market. Furthermore, Sentinel’s ERRV fleet is engaged in protecting marine life and biodiversity, progressing Cyan’s blue to green mission. Cyan’s most recent acquisition of MMA Offshore Limited with its established capability in supporting offshore wind developments in South East Asia, enables Cyan to tap into the Australian offshore wind market. With the industry on the brink of rapid growth, we are fully committed to establishing ourselves as a leading supporter of renewable energy in Australia. The two key acquisitions have provided Cyan with a twin engine of organic growth, driving innovation and global expansion at an accelerated pace. This momentum has recently seen Cyan awarded a significant 15-year charter by Hailong in Taiwan – a testament to our expanding capabilities and substantial experience. As we look to continue our growth trajectory with further merger and acquisition activities, Cyan is dedicated to building a cleaner, greener future for generations to come. Production start-up in the Norwegian Sea! 😀 Today, we are celebrating start-up from the Lavrans well in the Kristin South project. Thank you Equinor (operator), Petoro and TotalEnergies for the strong alignment, commitment, and collaboration in the partnership! 🙌 🤝 This is indeed a brilliant example of how we create value by developing existing infrastructure on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. A new subsea template has been installed and tied into the Kristin platform in the Norwegian Sea – a cost efficient way to add production and extend the lifespan of fields in operations. Expected production volumes are 58 million barrels of oil equivalent – adding more high value, low carbon barrels supporting our target to deliver between 350-400 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day from 2025 and beyond. #energy #energysupply #oilandgas #vårenergi #preferredpartner #oneteam

Most oil and gas offshore installations lacks available deck space and weight capacity. This is the challenge we are trying to solve. A smaller lightweight solution will increase the likelihood of adaptation of CCPP on offshore installations, also for fixed installations where weight is more critical than on floating installation,” says Pål Kloster, Business Development Director at Techouse AS Techouse AS have teamed up with several energy companies, including TotalEnergies and Equinor, plus SINTEF Energy Research, to develop and test a compact, lightweight once-through steam generator (OTSG) that can enable substantial reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 #emissions from power and heat production at #offshore installations. This compact solution is a step toward advancing more environmentally friendly operations in offshore #energy, aligning with the broader industry's shift towards decarbonization and efficient energy use. The successful implementation of such technology could set a precedent for other offshore facilities aiming to minimize their #carbon footprint while maximizing operational efficiency. #oilandgas #offshoreinstallation #oilandgasindustry #carbonfootprint
