As I perused the cafe breakfast menu on a sunny Sydney weekend morning, I started to wonder why bacon is a favourite go-to for breakfast and not other meats? 🥓✨ Well, the story is sizzling with marketing genius! Back in the 1920s, the Beech-Nut Packing Company had a pork problem. They had plenty of bacon but not enough people eating it. Enter Edward Bernays, the PR mastermind often dubbed the "Father of Public Relations." Bernays cooked up a marketing campaign that would change breakfast forever. He collaborated with a physician to endorse a hearty breakfast, which conveniently included bacon and eggs. The idea? To promote a "heavier" breakfast as a healthy start to the day. 🥓🍳 Fast forward to today, and bacon has cemented its spot on breakfast plates around the world. According to recent data, around 68% of Americans indulge in bacon for breakfast regularly, while around 53% of Australians eat bacon at least once a week, most likely at the local cafe. This is yet another prime example of the powerful influence of marketing on our everyday lives, often in ways we don't even realise. Who would have thought a savvy PR campaign from nearly a century ago would shape our breakfast habits today? So the next time you sit down to a strip or two of bacon at breakfast, remember you're part of a legacy that started with a clever marketing strategy. Bacon for breakfast? It's a tradition that's truly cured! 😄🥓 So, hats off to Edward Bernays and his groundbreaking campaign. Who knew the secret to a beloved breakfast staple lay in the hands of marketing magic? #MarketingMagic #MarketingGenius

Non-Seekers can question our complete marketing strategy. - You will love our latest menu of chicken 🐔 platters. We got a secret sauce that differentiates us from all bland restaurants in the world. We're a superhost with 4.7 reviews, our NPS is amazing. You will love today's special, super-duper, full-option, 50% free, election-edition (...) - But i'm vegetarian... Since we're in love with our product, we tend to build our marketing plans as if the world had always been waiting for our newest solution. We forget that people have a life. They're not aware of our obvious terrifying end-of-the-world problem. Hence, they are NOT seeking any solution. People scroll in 2" across our category, ignore our banners or SEA, they never click. REthink next step: What level of "Non-seeking" stakeholders could require alternative marketing? #marketingstrategy #rethink #brandbuilding

Ever have one of those moments when something just feels... off? That's exactly what happened last night during dinner with my mom. An expired ingredient almost ruined her signature Caesar salad! After planting a new flower bush in the garden at her house, my mom and I cooked up a delicious seafood dinner together. The salmon was perfect. The mussels were divine. The bread, freshly baked. But the Caesar dressing? Something just wasn't right. And it only took a minute to find the culprit: Expired mustard. It's impressive how one tiny ingredient can have such a big impact. After dinner while cleaning up, it hit me... That's exactly what happens in marketing. You can have: • A stunning website • Perfect copy • Beautiful graphics • Targeted ads • Stellar content But if one critical element is off... The whole campaign can fall apart. It's like having a Ferrari without the key. Beautiful to look at. Impossible to drive. The takeaway? Success isn't just about having all the right ingredients. It's about ensuring each one is fresh and effective. What's your "expired mustard" in marketing? What small detail might be holding back your business? P.S. Don't worry - I still cleared my plate and enjoyed my dinner. Thanks for the homemade meal (and lesson), Mom! ❤️ #MarketingLessons #FamilyTime #LifeLessons #QualityTime #GardeningWithMom #BusinessStrategy #PersonalGrowth

Let's talk about the impact of social media marketing in restaurant Business. How It helps to acquire more customers. For example, restaurants get customers first through word of mouth. It's like the first time people go to the restaurant they talk about the quality of service to their friends and family. But there is a problem. If word of mouth does not work the restaurant not get any customers. Then comes the social media content that talks about their service and other staff. It can be a post or video that shows the food of their restaurant. The audience knows that there is a restaurant that serves the best quality food and services. Fact: The busiest day of the year for restaurants is Mother's Day. The average American eats 46 slices of pizza every year #socialmedia #marketing #impact #businessgrowth

My current project - Sharing Nuevo Garcia Foods with my platforms to generate interest in their frozen meals at Sprouts Farmers Market stores! Working with food based brands can often feel daunting because I don’t have a huge, aesthetic kitchen BUT I’ve found that my audience connects more with brands I share in my everyday life compared to those I share with high aesthetic filming. For this collaboration I focused on sharing how I genuinely used Garcia Foods frozen meals to get a high protein and healthy lunch made for myself during a busy day. Im excited to see the analytics on the video once posted! #socialmedia #influencermarketing #socialmediacontentcreation

Marketing can be a bit like a Hot Pot!🍲 Ever had that moment at a hot pot restaurant where you're like "Nope, not putting THAT in my soup!" (Looking at you, mushrooms 👀) That's exactly how marketing should work! Just like you wouldn't force yourself to eat every ingredient at the hot pot table, why should you have to take every marketing service offered? Maybe you're a content creation pro who just needs some fresh ideas to spice things up. Or perhaps you're looking for someone to take the whole pot off your hands! At Social Jems, we believe in the "Hot Pot Philosophy" - pick what you want, leave what you don't. Whether it's just a dash of strategy or the full feast of account management, we'll tailor our services to match your taste.🌶️ After all, the best meals (and marketing strategies) are the ones made exactly how YOU like them! And Sarah also went for her first ever hot pot, so any excuse to link food up to marketing.🤣 What would be going in your hot pot? #MarketingTips #BusinessGrowth #CustomisedMarketing #HotPot #SocialJems

Whoever invented brunch should win all the awards 🏆 (I should know, I do this for a living!) What I love most about brunch is that you can have whatever you want. Want a burger? Great. Want avocado toast with eggs? Perfect. Drinks? Of course! Sometimes I have breakfast, sometimes I have lunch, sometimes it’s pasta, sometimes it’s fish, and there’s always lots of wine. New York brunch is an institution, and it’s one I gladly take part in. Here are three of my favorite spots right now - where are brunching this weekend? #Advertising #Marketing #ClioAwards #ClioCulinary

Marshalls Bakehouse best seller: the vanilla slice. An absolute classic. Following my grandad Bert Marshall’s original recipe, it’s double my age. (Almost 45 years old!) Selling over 500 a week from my single shop and reaching millions on our social media platforms, this just shows that traditional bakery products are very much still alive & appreciated. For me, it’s all about marketing. You can have a brilliant product, but no one will buy it if they don’t know it’s there. Social media is a huge part of business in today’s society, and if used properly, it can really push your business out there. #bakerybusiness #marketingandadvertising
