I'm a fan of Google Alerts ( https://lnkd.in/eMTPQ7TU ). It's nothing new - I'm actually embarrassingly late to the party, but I'm reaping the benefits at long last! It's free to use, and the service can drop you updates via email at whatever frequency you want. It's a great and easy way to stay ahead of the game on topics that you're interested in or are vital to stay on top of for your role, whatever you do! Some of my most recent, top alerts are: 🎮 VR updates - I love knowing the latest news in this area! 🔎 Google Algorithm updates - one just got announced, and I heard about it immediately - so useful. 📈 Conversion Rate Optimisation - for all the latest updates in this field, it's great to keep my finger on the pulse 🎟 Gladiators audience tickets - a personal one for the family, the kids (and grown-ups) in the family LOVED the new series, and we want to be in the audience. A quick alert to let me know when tickets are available ensures I'll be in the front row! If you don't use Google Alerts, you should do 😁 #googlealerts #algorithm #fingeronthepulse

What's your pet peeve digital practice that never goes away? "Click here" language is most definitely mine. It makes me twitch each time I see it. It is: 📊 Bad for SEO- you want Google to associate the link with the right type of content. Telling it the content is "click here" adds no value to your internal or external links. 🚗 Bad for UX- when you can't scan a page (or even an email) and see where it's linking off to, you're less likely to keep reading and even more so to click. Make it easy to see what you're linking to, and what they will get if they click. 👓 Bad for Accessibility- readers telling vision impaired users with site readers the link says "click here" tells them nothing. We knew this was bad practice circa 2005 at least. How does it never leave the cultural zeitgeist? #userexperience #bestpractices

YouTube's Latest Test: Hiding View Counts & Upload Dates on the Homepage! YouTube is experimenting with a big change, removing view counts and upload dates from videos on the homepage. Here’s what’s happening: Key Takeaways: • Cleaner UI or Hidden Metrics? YouTube aims to create a cleaner interface, possibly encouraging users to explore non-viral content. • Mixed Reactions: Early user feedback isn’t exactly glowing; reactions range from confusion to calling it the “downgrade of the century.” • Other UI Changes: YouTube’s been busy, with recent tweaks like the updated miniplayer and “Skip Ads” button adjustments, sparking ongoing conversations with users. Removing these metrics may help broaden viewing choices, though users might miss the instant context that view counts and upload dates provide. Is this a cleaner look or a step too far? What do you think? #YouTubeUpdates #UserExperience #UIChanges #Consumr

You are not testing as much as you’d like because you are not using Static ads as a leverage. They allow you to see what your customers relate to in the most quicker, cheaper and easier way. > Pick 3 new angles you want to test > Make 3 static ads in 1 day > Find the winner angle and turn it into a video, UGC, GIF, etc. Do this before investing money and time into any other format. Make your testing process as efficient as possible
