What's your pet peeve digital practice that never goes away? "Click here" language is most definitely mine. It makes me twitch each time I see it. It is: 📊 Bad for SEO- you want Google to associate the link with the right type of content. Telling it the content is "click here" adds no value to your internal or external links. 🚗 Bad for UX- when you can't scan a page (or even an email) and see where it's linking off to, you're less likely to keep reading and even more so to click. Make it easy to see what you're linking to, and what they will get if they click. 👓 Bad for Accessibility- readers telling vision impaired users with site readers the link says "click here" tells them nothing. We knew this was bad practice circa 2005 at least. How does it never leave the cultural zeitgeist? #userexperience #bestpractices
