Gisela 6 is more hardy than Colt 🍒 If well managed G6 could become an ideal rootstock for cherry, like M9 for apple. I don't say that, science says that. In these dry summers with maximum temperatures consistently above 35°, it is surprising to see G6 in Vignola Italy behaving better than Colt. On the other hand, some UNIBO researchers already showed 50 years ago that Colt roots were less resilient than other rootstocks such as CABs and F12/1 franc. Again from UNIBO research, but more recently, it has been shown that Gisele 6 is physiologically the best rootstock, especially under water and heat stress. If we then move to northern Italy, researchers at Laimburg BZ confirm after 17 years of experimental trials that Gisela 6 is just as resistant to restripling as Colt and has been found to be more productive and efficient than Colt. I understand that tradition, belief and false myths are difficult to eradicate and it takes time to abandon old concepts and shift new ones.

TVBS NEWS reports on the Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (#STIPT) and interviews Christian Heim one of the participants of the program. National Taiwan University cooperates with the Free State of #Saxony, Technische Universität Dresden and TSMC to train 30 German students in Taiwan in a modular semiconductor program. The program is divided into two stages. After studying theoretical semiconductor courses at National Taiwan University, the participants of the Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (#STIPT) will do a practical training at TSMC that prepares them for work in the German #ESMC-fab. The number of students will increase in the future. In addition to National Taiwan University, also other schools with semiconductor capabilities will cooperate, and there will be opportunities to create industry-university clusters.
