An Update: In 2020, two friends, Aakriti and Pranika, united by their love for stories, embarked on a journey to create something special. They launched Saga Fiction, an app that quickly grew into a vibrant community where readers and writers converged. As they recognized the abundance of untold stories and the dreams of aspiring authors, their vision expanded. What began as an app evolved into a traditional publishing house dedicated to elevating new voices: The Bombay Circle Press. As our stories have evolved, so has our vision. The Bombay Circle Press is no longer just a publishing house—it’s a vibrant community where stories from all walks of life are celebrated. This transformation reflects our commitment to giving more to the community that has supported us throughout these first four years. This evolution is a step towards deeper connection, inclusivity, and storytelling that resonates with every voice. We don’t just want to publish books; we want to foster a community of storytellers.

I rarely post here on LI, but it just occurred to me that I may have some connections here that I'm not also connected with in other places... and who may be interested to know I am releasing my first novel — tomorrow! (Actually, it's available for pre-order right now.) It's called My Time With Simon, and you can learn more about it at www.mytimewithsimon.com. I hope you like it!

Free Will vs Free Speech The free speech debate is a complete distraction. The real debate now should be about free will. We are being programmed in ways we can’t fathom. Our social media feeds keep us in little cubicles and echo chambers, narrowing our view of the world. As we interact with content online, algorithms actively determine what we like and show us more of that. Our ability to make sound judgments is being gradually eroded because of biased information or lack thereof. Even if you try to be anonymous, the algorithms will still use metadata from your browser to lock you in. How can we then claim to be acting freely if we don’t have access to all the information? Free speech allows us to express our thoughts and opinions, but without true free will, shaped by unbiased access to information, our expressions may not genuinely reflect our independent thinking
