Research Tree is proud to announce its partnership with The Business Magazine in the production and distribution of the highly anticipated new podcast, The Business Case. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to providing insightful and engaging content for investors, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. Listen to the inaugural episode of The Business Case here: 👉 https://bit.ly/4iAzbiD Hosted by renowned industry veterans Mark Wharrier (former Managing Director at BlackRock) and Phil Clark (formerly Goldman Sachs and Fidelity Investments, and now a leading investor relations consultant), The Business Case dives deep into the unique strategies, challenges, and successes of UK private and public corporations. Together, the hosts draw on their combined 75+ years of investing experience in global capital markets to deliver long-form conversations that explore the trends shaping the business landscape today. The podcast features interviews with some of the UK’s most inspiring business leaders, including Nigel Terrington, CEO of a specialist lending bank; Henry Engelhardt, founder of a FTSE100 insurance company; and Helen Mahy seasoned non-executive director across sectors such as energy transition and investment trusts. These personal insights promise to resonate with anyone curious about the drivers of corporate success. Commenting on the podcast, Mark Wharrier said: “During my fund management career, I found the most beneficial CEO meetings were those that focused on the long-term strategic drivers of the business and how the industry trends were likely to evolve. With the Business Case podcast, we are trying to replicate these engaging conversations that will be relevant for our audience.” Phil Clark added: “There are so many great UK company success stories out there and we want to use The Business Case podcast to remind people that public companies have a lot to give in creating a thriving economy. Mark and I are finding fascinating business leaders and getting them to help us understand what makes them tick and what drives their businesses success.” Rob Mundy, CEO of Research Tree: “We are delighted to be supporting Mark and Phil with the launch of their new podcast. Our goal is, and has always been, to help connect investors and companies, and that starts with offering investors quality content. We at Research Tree are very much looking forward to seeing The Business Case podcast grow, and listening to all the insights its high calibre guests will provide.” The Business Case podcast is available on major streaming platforms, including Apple and Spotify. We get asked lots of questions by our sole trader and small business audience about all kinds of small business topics. But there's one topic that comes up time and time again - business planning. There's a misconception that you don't need a business plan if you're funding the business yourself or if you're starting a side hustle. Sure, a business plan can help you attract funding but that isn't the sole reason for creating one. It can help you spot 'holes' in your thinking, gives you a road map for starting and growing your business and helps you manage your cash flow. In the latest episode of the Start Your Own Business Podcast, I talked to Nicola McKenzie, co-founder of Venture Planning about the importance of business planning for new and established businesses, how to write your plan and what to include. Nicola also shared some of the common planning errors businesses make. #businessplanning #businessplan #businesspodcast

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 It doesn’t exist. When you see a new factory or warehouse that seems to have “popped up overnight” or hear about a company that expanded rapidly, what you’re actually seeing is the end product of years of groundwork — strategic planning, smart investments, and partnerships. In the industrial real estate market, as in many other fields, “overnight success” is a myth. What might look like pure luck or a perfectly timed move is typically built on three key things: • Years of preparation and market knowledge • Lessons learned from setbacks and failures • Relentless commitment to a clear vision --> But here’s the thing: most people only see the highlight reel. They see the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the shiny new facilities, the successful distribution centers running at full speed. What they don’t see is the grind behind the scenes. And that’s where a trusted industrial real estate broker makes all the difference. Want to learn how? “Until you’re exceedingly crystal clear on what ‘perfection’ looks like— unless you’re really clear about your goals, what ‘ideal’ would look like, what your nonnegotiables are, and the things that would be nice to have but you could live without, you’re never going to know it when you see it.” Excited to sit on the other side of the mic from Steve Sanduski, CFP® on his podcast, Between Now and Success. I recently sat down with Jo-Anne Oliveri on my podcast, The #DoorGrowShow to talk about policy, process, and automated workflows. As always, I gleaned some incredible insights from her... 1. The reality of your business becomes the policy. Policy is based on logic, and your policy cannot be logical if it is not grounded in reality. 2. Strong processes protect you from more than just losing a team member. Sometimes, a team member has a day off, and your tasks don't stop. 3. Your processes are only as strong as your team's consistency with following them. Along with many more great tidbits of wisdom. If you're struggling with your team or your company processes, give episode 266 of The #DoorGrowShow a listen 💡 Check it out here: doorgrow.com/266

I bet, like me, you know someone who has said to you…” See that. I had that idea. I could have been a billionaire.” You don’t want to be that person, though; you want to be the one making it big. As a business leader, you have an idea already… It could be you are already doing something that is working well and the next step is scaling it. Or is it for something new? Scaling a business idea is not just a potential ‘gold mine’, but a journey that is both daunting and incredibly exciting. The thrill of turning a great idea into a successful business is a feeling like no other. When you start to think about it there are three key areas that come to mind: 1. Operational tasks 2. Financial Considerations 3. Technology That leads to three key pain points: 1. Finding the right people 2. Finding the money 3. Having the infrastructure you need That leaves you with one big thing to consider… Telling people about it, consistently so you drive more people to you. That is not just for the end of the journey, it’s from the start where more conversations lead to demand - whether it is people working with you, investing in you, supporting you or buying from you. It’s the most daunting part to get riight, because otherwise what if… 🪣you build it and nobody comes? 🪣if they come but don’t realise the value 🪣what you created is only the matinee That’s right, suddenly there is a new show in town, so you need to make sure you do have the means to talk to people about it consistently and drive more of the right people to see it. With all that in mind, on my Biz Bites podcast (linked in the comments - please subscribe) I spoke with Susan Toft (aka The Laundry Lady) who has taken a solo business doing some laundry for the neighborhood, to an international company growing by the day. She captured the largest investment in Australian Shark Tank history last year of $1M.💰 But now her business is also in technology, because what she has built to make The Laundry Lady business work is in of itself amazing. Check out a few highlights in the video. Where is your pain point that is holding you back from releasing your big idea? #businessstrategy #businessleader #podcasting #bizbites
