The Impact of #Emotional Design in #UX. Using #neuromarketing. Emotional design, in UX brings about a revolution in user experiences by incorporating emotions into interface elements. Embracing design turns interactions into memorable and meaningful journeys that create long lasting impressions on users. It goes beyond functionality and appearance, aiming to evoke emotional responses from users and establish deep connections. Theoretical foundations include theories like computing, Kansei engineering and Donald Normans model of emotional design showcasing the multidisciplinary nature of this field. It examines aspects of design such as visual elements and interaction design to understand their impact on user’s emotions. By exploring how emotional design influences user satisfaction, loyalty, and retention it highlights a relationship between principles of design and favorable user outcomes. https://lnkd.in/dSt-BPEk Marc Polo (Ph.D) Joan Cuenca Ph.D Chantal Pallarés Gerardo Laino Juan Francisco Martínez Cerdá Didier Dominguez

Understanding the Doherty Threshold: Making User Experience Design Better In the world of user experience (UX) design, the Doherty Threshold plays a big role in creating interfaces that are not only functional but also engaging. Named after Walter J. Doherty, this idea explains how system responsiveness affects how satisfied users feel. What's the Doherty Threshold? The Doherty Threshold, or the Doherty Amplification Principle, suggests that adding a small delay to a computer system's response time can actually make users feel like the system is responding faster, as long as the delay is short. It's based on the idea that immediate responses might not always feel meaningful or satisfying to users. By adding a slight delay, users perceive the system as more intentional and responsive, which makes their experience better overall. How Does it Help in UX Design? The Doherty Threshold has a few important implications for UX design: 1. Feeling Responsive: By adjusting response times carefully, designers can make interfaces feel more responsive and interesting to users, leading to happier users and stronger connections with the product. 2. Less Frustration: Adding a small delay can stop users from feeling overwhelmed by super-fast responses. This reduces frustration and makes the interface easier to use. 3. Better Performance: Balancing response times with a tiny delay can help users do tasks better, as they can expect and react to system feedback more effectively. Advantages: - Users Like it More: Users feel like the system is responding well, which makes them happier. - Less Thinking: Adding a delay can help users process information better and not feel overwhelmed. - Better Performance: Users might do tasks faster and more accurately when the system's response is set to the Doherty Threshold. In summary, the Doherty Threshold is a useful idea for understanding how system responsiveness affects how users feel about UX design. By setting response times to stay within this threshold, designers can make interfaces that feel more natural, engaging, and enjoyable for users. #uxdesignlearning #uxresearch #uxuidesign
