As the saying goes... with great power comes great responsibility. Legal services pricing, client communications, data sources and data governance practices... lots of important ethical issues implicated by the continued growth of Gen AI in legal. Gen AI holds tremendous potential to evolve and improve the delivery of services to clients. Law firms and legal providers should continue to become familiar, develop, and integrate promising emerging Gen AI uses cases. But, lawyers and legal practitioners must also be vigilant and have a deliberate mindset to regularly and actively consider how emerging Gen AI use cases comport with applicable Rules of Professional Conduct and the ethical obligations embodied within them.
