Clearing out the garage this weekend, I came across my first ever conference program—written almost a quarter of a century ago! I obviously kept it because I was so pleased with the comment at the top of the page 🤣 from Mark Baldry, Founder and CEO of Infoline (which specialised in conferences for the UK financial services sector). I learnt pretty much everything I know about producing conferences from Mark. "Content is King!" he would exclaim, red pen at the ready. In the hunt for 'hot' topics, he drilled us ALWAYS to ask "What else?" during research calls. And to keep asking until the interviewee literally couldn't think of anything else. This requirement to keep asking What Else? was embarrassing at first. But you got used to it. It definitely produced lots of good content. And content is King! Once we'd conducted all our research calls, usually 25 or so, we turned the issues that most people said were hot into session titles and short overviews, to give potential delegates a flavour of what the discussions would cover and what they'd get out of it. Some hot topics were so hot they'd be turned into a conference of their own. They were Holy Grail hot topics. We got lots of points for those ones. So, if you are reading this and you end up in a research call with me, be prepared for the What Else questions. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. #throwback #lessonsfromthepast #conferenceproducers #eventprofs #contentcreation #careergrowth #LinkedInCommunity

Are you ready to be included in the admired group the SPEAKERS who were CRUSHING it from the STAGE? I want to share these 5 key elements with you that make SPEAKERS effective & able to shine on stage: 1. CLARITY: A message must clearly show the specific problem you solve & for who 2. FASCINATION: A talk, a look, speaker materials, and content that intrigues others & makes them want to know more. 3. LEADS: High volume of leads for the RIGHT stages (for your offer). 4. STRATEGY: Knowing which of the 4 speaking strategies will yield you the most profit. 5. VISIBILITY: A quick Google search should show you speaking everywhere (on stages, on social media, on your own stages, etc.). Once I learned & implemented this into my business, it was a total GAME CHANGER!! Because without those 5 things, you could be the BEST…… but you’ll be the best-kept secret. That’s why I’m excited to share effective NEW CONTENT from speaker coaches that I know and respect at the 3-day event called, VISIBILITY. Join us for the VISIBILITY EVENT this week led by Dannella Burnett plus an impressive lineup of expert speaking coaches and judges. I’ll be there too! I’ve been invited to be a judge during the Speaker Competition that offers big coveted prices! So stop hesitating and register https://lnkd.in/eZy-mFhk ! Comment below and let me know what your goals are with speaking from stages this year.

Ready to approach speakers bureaus with confidence? Here’s how you know if the timing is right: First, ask yourself a few key questions: • Do you have repeat clients or referrals? • Are you consistently booking keynotes on your own? • Is your calendar filling up with opportunities in your fee range? If the answer is yes, you’re likely building the right kind of momentum. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧. (Especially with the ImpactEleven Community) 😊 One of the best ways to gauge your readiness is to connect with fellow speakers who are already in the game. Confidence comes from clarity, and your peers can be super helpful in this case. The clearer you are about your momentum and your unique value proposition, the stronger you’ll show up when approaching bureaus.
