So, #NVIDIA unveiled Earth-2, a #Cloud platform that uses #AI and #DigitalTwin technology for accurate weather forecasting. It introduces #CorrDiff, an AI model for weather simulations with 12.5X greater resolution, operates 1,000X quicker, and is 3,000X more energy-efficient compared to current numerical weather models. As the Earth's climate changes, AI powered weather forecasting is allowing us to more accurately predict and track severe storms like Super Typhoon Chanthu, which caused widespread damage in Taiwan and the surrounding region in 2021. Current AI forecast models can accurately predict the track of storms, but they are limited to 25 kilometer resolution which can miss important details. Nvidia's Cardiff is a revolutionary new generative AI model trained on high resolution radar assimilated. Warm weather forecast and era 5 reanalysis data. Using Cardiff, extreme events like Chanthu can be super resolved from 25 kilometer to 2 kilometer resolution with 1000 times the speed and 3000 times the energy efficiency of conventional weather models. By combining the speed and accuracy of Nvidia's weather forecasting model, forecast net and generative AI models like Cardiff, we can explore hundreds or even thousands of kilometer scale regional weather forecasts to provide a clear picture of the best, worst and most likely impacts of the storm. This wealth of information can help minimize loss of life and property damage.

Just got back from NVIDIA GTC, my first tech conference, and wow, did it feel like a glimpse into the future. Here’s what caught my eye: 📌 ⁠Intensive sessions on Generative AI, Testing, Distributed Cloud, Edge Computing, and a lot more. 📌 ⁠Startup showcases revealing how AI is the backbone of innovation. The creativity was off the charts! But that's not all: 📌 Robots making coffee and mixing drinks like a pro bartender ☕🍹 📌 Chess-playing robots showcasing skills that could challenge the best players♟️ One standout session was "AI Secrets I Wish I Knew" with Betsy (Elizabeth) Corcoran, Karen Liu, and Louis Stewart. They highlighted how generative AI, is reshaping education, blending their experiences and real-use cases into a must-have guide for leveraging AI in learning. Super insightful!
