Diversity and inclusion are more than just values—they’re strategic advantages. Organizations that empower historically marginalized communities unlock innovation and drive long-term success. It starts with leadership: creating inclusive cultures, equitable talent pipelines, and opportunities for all voices to be heard. How is your organization empowering diverse voices? Rashad, great point on looking at diversity and inclusion as strategic advantages. My organization has made tremendous progress on gender diversity through targets in the gender balance of the workforce. Without targets “you can’t measure what you don’t measure” (Peter Drucker). As for challenges, it seems that geographic background targets haven’t been met yet (the organization doesn’t use race) which requires the leadership you describe above.
