🆕 PUBLICATION 📖 by the European Alliance for Value in Health: "A Compass for Collaboration: Navigating Stakeholders’ Roles in Transitioning To Value-Based Healthcare" Despite the on-going momentum towards value-based healthcare (#VBHC), implementation is fragmented and mostly confined to localised pilot programs. ⚙️𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 🏥 In 2024, EUHA started the “Rethinking Healthcare Systems” initiative, aimed at informing and convincing the public, healthcare workforce, and authorities, that a master plan for future-proof healthcare is urgently needed. 𝐖𝐡𝐲? ➡️ Europe’s healthcare systems are suffering from workforce shortages, ageing populations, stagnating budgets, and escalating treatment costs, leaving systems ill-prepared to navigate the uncertainties of the future. Although healthcare is a national competence in the EU, due to the cross-border nature of the challenges, EUHA advocates for an EU-wide approach and collaboration. 𝐇𝐨𝐰? ➡️ EUHA has set up a series of events and activities aimed at increasing the priority status of an EU-wide plan to implement comprehensive measures and actions for sustainable and resilient healthcare systems in Europe. ✅ EUHA has set up an International Advisory Board to deliberate on healthcare systems’ reform, assess the time scale for change, and frame the topic to relevant authorities. ✅ EUHA will engage with regional EU Offices to elevate awareness and advocate for prioritising the development of resilient and sustainable healthcare systems. ✅ A symposium titled “Rethinking Healthcare Systems”, co-organised with Karolinska University Hospital, will address healthcare challenges and the imperative for an EU-wide approach. ➕More info on EUHA’s Rethinking Healthcare Systems initiative👉 https://bit.ly/3VYp2Dt #euhalliance

EUHA launches "Rethinking Healthcare Systems" to promote an EU-wide master plan for sustainable and resilient healthcare systems in Europe. In 2017, from the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron, I had the honor of leading the creation of the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA). The vision of the core founding team was clear: to lead healthcare innovation through collaboration among some of Europe's largest university hospitals. Five years on, the growth and evolution of the EUHA have surpassed all expectations of the pioneering team. This journey began as a strategy to share cutting-edge knowledge, research, and clinical practices, aimed at transforming healthcare systems globally. This insightful publication on transforming healthcare advocates for a value-driven approach to navigating digital health by the World Economic Forum highlights a tidal shift in the way we perceive healthcare. The future of health will be different from what we're used to seeing. In their words: For digital health solutions to scale and address these issues, collaboration among healthcare stakeholders is essential. Global initiatives have emerged to enhance digital health benefits and remove obstacles, achieving notable progress. To further accelerate this impact through collaborative efforts, the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Health and Healthcare and the Boston Consulting Group have initiated the Digital Healthcare Transformation Initiative to facilitate public-private engagement on digital health and data. AHRQ’s new Digital Healthcare Equity Framework: A Practical Guide for Implementation further enriches AHRQ’s aim to advance #HealthEquity via digital healthcare technologies and solutions. In the last 10 years, AHRQ has invested more than $89 million across 153 research projects focused on reducing healthcare disparities.
