How can IoT manufacturers comply with the Cyber Resilience Act #CRA in 5 steps: 1) Create secure products Identify risks to your products, choose appropriate cyber security and resilience measures (for your own development and for your suppliers), implement them, test them. 2) Make the installation of products secure Create a default configuration so that your product activates security requirements at first boot. This is called "security by default". 3) Keep products secure After market release, you must absolutely keep track of new vulnerabilities and cyber incidents affecting your products, fix them and inform customers. 4) Create relevant documentation The CRA mandates manufacturers to keep risk assesment documents for 10 years! You must also create an #SBOM and develop customers-facing documentation. 5) DO NOT release products with known vulnerabilities This one goes without saying. But if you have no choice, start working on an update ASAP.
