🎶 On the tenth day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 Your email account is a gateway to many other accounts, so it’s vital to keep it secure. Use strong passwords, enable 2-Factor Authentication, and be cautious with unfamiliar emails. A secure email account is a solid first line of defence against cyber threats. This season, add email security to your checklist, along with family cyber tips, careful clicks, device protection, phishing awareness, Wi-Fi safety, software updates, secure backups, and 2-Factor Authentication! About us
If you're part of a regional business, charity or public sector team, we're here to help you navigate the risks of cyber security. We know that cyber can feel difficult and intimidating. We make personal contact, and we regularly update you with new guidance, and with information on the latest threats and scams. If you need more, we can provide inexpensive services via our partnerships with academia, using the best and brightest of student talent from within the region. And for the more complex cyber support, we signpost you to trusted commercial partners who are able to accredit your cyber security at nationally-recognised levels, so that you know you're dealing with someone with genuine expertise. We are regionally based, and we are here to protect regional business, develop regional talent, and safeguard the regional economy. Cyber isn't a threat you can ignore, and it needn't be one that feels too difficult to deal with. Please register for free on our website and help us to help you.

🎶 On the eighth day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 Think before you click! Cybercriminals often use tempting links to lure you to harmful sites. Whether it's a promotional email or a social media ad, always double-check links and only click on trusted sources. One click can make all the difference. Combine careful clicks with device protection, phishing awareness, Wi-Fi safety, software updates, secure backups, 2-Factor Authentication, and strong passwords for a secure season! 🎶 On the seventh day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 With more connected devices than ever, each one can be a potential entry point for cyber threats. Make sure all devices—computers, phones, and tablets—are secure with updated software and strong passwords. Limit the data each device accesses and disconnect devices when not in use. Along with phishing awareness, Wi-Fi safety, regular updates, secure backups, 2-Factor Authentication, and strong passwords, protecting your devices is essential this season! 🎶 On the sixth day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 Be on high alert for phishing scams! These deceptive emails, texts, and messages can trick you into revealing personal information or clicking malicious links. Always verify the sender’s authenticity, watch for suspicious attachments, and think twice before clicking links. Combine this with Wi-Fi safety, software updates, secure backups, 2-Factor Authentication, and strong passwords for robust protection this holiday season! CyberVersed Episode 34 - Summing up the year of progress made by the CRC Network. CyberVersed episode 34 is the final podcast of 2024, and fittingly, Mandy Haeburn-Little caught up with Nik Adams, Assistant Commissioner, City of London Police and Chair of the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group National Ambassador Steering Group. Their conversation highlights the progress made during 2024 and, more importantly, outlines the opportunities and goals for NCRCG and the CRC network for 2025.

🎶 On the fifth day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 This festive season, stay cautious on public Wi-Fi! Avoid accessing sensitive information or logging into important accounts on unsecured networks. If you must use public Wi-Fi, consider using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for added protection. Alongside Wi-Fi safety, remember to keep software updated, maintain secure backups, enable 2-Factor Authentication, and use strong passwords. Every layer counts! 🎶 On the fourth day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 Keeping software up-to-date is essential for protecting your systems. Updates often include security patches that protect against the latest threats. By updating regularly, you reduce vulnerabilities that attackers could exploit. Combine this with secure backups, 2-Factor Authentication, and strong passwords, and you’re building a solid defence this holiday season! 🎶 On the third day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 Keep your data safe by maintaining three secure backups! Follow the 3-2-1 rule: three copies of your data, on two different storage types, with one stored offsite. This ensures that even if something goes wrong, you have reliable access to your information. Add this to strong passwords and 2-Factor Authentication, and you’re well on your way to a secure holiday season! 🎶 On the second day of Christmas, the CRC reminded me… 🎶 Adding 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) gives you an extra layer of protection alongside strong passwords. 2FA makes it harder for attackers to access your accounts, even if they manage to get hold of your password. This simple step could be the difference between a secure account and a security breach. Take a proactive step this festive season—secure your accounts with 2FA!
