Challenges in Current Traceability Systems In this context, consumer protection debates should be directed towards awareness of traceability activities performed by the food supply chain and should be accompanied by recommendations on best practices concerning collection and interpretation of product information. Note that each type of retrieval query may include subqueries, such as suppliers' contact, supplier's plant, leading distributor, carrier, footprint, emission, printed product, expiration period, and encrusted code. The current approaches for designing and constructing traceability systems include storage of history data or tracking and recording of product-related traceability information from the initial manufacturing process through the entire supply chain. These schemes could be based on the concept of wanting to have data that follow the life of a particular product from the start. In the food industry, standalone external actors involved in traceability are the supplier of equipment, consultant firms, and investors/private firms funding traceability in audits and trace enhancement proposals, respectively. Ongoing research should focus on defining the specific objectives of internal and external actors, which would lead to the best possible results in implementing rules concerning consumer protection in international markets. The diversity in use of systems to collect information, data correlation, and use of information hampers effective traceability in the food supply chain, making it difficult to share information about products worldwide. Building customer trust corresponds to understanding the weaknesses of the existing information infrastructure and identifying future needs or stakeholders who have vision in this global, digital world. #tracability #foodsafety #Ai #BSQ
