So many people on this platform don't know how to use them properly. They are often abused here on LinkedIn. My feeling is... Don't use them unless they really are relevant. I am talking about hash tags. When you use them and they aren't necessary or relevant, it's called #hashtagspam People think hashtags need to be used on a post. And they hashtag way too many words. Or they add 3 hashtags at the end of a post to make sure there are hashtags in the post. Only use a hashtag if you have a reason to use it. If its a relevant keyword that will be searched. Or if it's for an internal keyword that you want to reference, such as my own #heshytips series. If you disagree with me, feel free to have an open discussion in the comments.

Don't Bury the Hashtag! ⚠️ Here's Why They Still Matter on LinkedIn!🫶 Hashtags on LinkedIn - are they relics of the past, or a secret weapon for post discovery❓ I vote for the latter!✌🏻 While engagement might not be directly tied to hashtags anymore, they can still be a powerful tool to: Get Found: Think of them as filing cabinets for your content. The right hashtags categorize your post, making it discoverable by people searching for relevant topics.📈 Join the Conversation: Hashtags connect you with a wider audience interested in the same things. It's your chance to jump in and share your expertise!🏃♀️ Pro Tip: Don't just throw in any hashtag. Research relevant ones with a good search volume, and use a mix of general and niche terms.👩💻📱 #hashtags #socialmediastrategy #linkedinstrategy #socialmediagame #hashtaggame

Hey, hashtags are still useful! But maybe you're not using them right. You might think hashtags will make your posts super popular, but they're not as powerful as they used to be. So, do they still help? Yes, definitely! Here are 5 common mistakes with hashtags: 1) Using super popular hashtags: If you use hashtags with millions of posts, your stuff might just get lost. Stick to ones with fewer than 100k posts, and mix in some smaller ones too. 2) Too many hashtags: You can only use 30 hashtags per post. If you use them all, it looks spammy. Try 5-7 instead. 3) Putting hashtags in comments: It might look neat, but the algorithm doesn't check comments for hashtags. Put them in your caption! 4) Using the same hashtags: Using the same ones over and over makes your posts seem boring to the algorithm. Switch it up! 5) Using unrelated hashtags: If your hashtags don't match your post, the algorithm gets confused. Pick ones that match your content and niche. Are you making any of these mistakes? Share this with a friend and let them know! LET’S SETTLE THIS DEBATE FINALLY: KEYWORDS OR HASHTAGS⁉️ Recently, socal media is shook by extreme views absolutely opting for the abandonment or sole use of either 'hashtags' or 'keywords': Are these two necessary? Absolutely Are they powerful? Of course But why do we think one performs better than the other? ✨The choice of the use of either hashtags or keywords should be platforms & goals specific. ⭕️ A well researched hashtag strategy is a no fail strategy on platforms like Instagram or X. It helps boost visibility and reach. ⭕️Keywords are powerful for platforms such as YouTube, Pinterest or LinkedIn. ⭕️A mix of these two are best for platforms as Facebook. How have you been using any of these⁉️ Do you have any reason to think one works better than the other⁉️ Please note it in the comment section and thank you so much. Now reshare this to help reach others😉 #maysomma #hashtags #keywords #employee #digitalmarketing

Why I still use hashtags on LinkedIn in 2024 – and you should too. "Ritchie, why are you still using hashtags on LinkedIn™? That is so 2023!" A typical rehook question. ↳ No one actually asked me this. But I'll still answer because: ↳ There's more to the story than meets the eye. Lisa, Dorian, and Kevin don't use them anymore. They are becoming a rarer. Will hashtags go extinct? Truthbomb: #hashtags do not directly influence your reach anymore. Statistics speak loudly - the reach bonus is gone. Fakeflash: #hashtags are dead. There are four good reasons to STILL include them: 1. Post URLs: Pay attention to this post's URL. They always include the first three hashtags. Google indexes newsletters and articles - and sometimes posts, depending on various mysterious factors. I've seen some in the SERPs. Nice URLs are always a bonus. 2. Grouping posts: An unobtrusive way to create a feed of topic- or campaign-related posts. 3. Findability: When users search for hashtags, posts with the hashtag are prioritized over those with "just" the term. 4. Following hashtags: Following a hashtag still has some impact. Downside is, you need to get people to follow first. Now you know why I still use 3-5 hashtags in all my posts. By the way, follow #linkedin3x3byRitchie PS: Do you still use hashtags? #ContentStrategy #SocialMedia

What I’ve learnt about using hashtags •If you’re using hashtags for their intended purpose (categorisation and discovery), don’t string too many words together with a single hashtag. •On most networks, if you use a hashtag on a public account, anyone who does a search for that hashtag can find your post. •Don’t #spam #with #hashtags. Avoid over-tagging a single post or adding them to every word. •Use hashtags only on Tweets relevant to the topic. Trying to get attention by using a mismatch between the content of your •Tweet and hashtag use won’t do you any favours if people are annoyed. What have you learnt about hashtags?

Are Hashtags Dead? 🧐 Here’s the deal: Hashtags are NOT dead. They're just... evolving. Why They're Not Gone: 🔍 Searchability: Hashtags still help people discover your content. If used strategically, they’ll get your posts in front of the right eyes. ❤ Social Platforms Love Them: Despite all the new features (hello, AI!), platforms like Instagram and Twitter are still using hashtags to categorise content and boost engagement. 💡 But here’s the kicker: It’s not about throwing 20 hashtags into a post and hoping for the best. The secret sauce is relevance. Be strategic. Be specific. The real question isn’t if hashtags are dead, but are you using them wisely? 🤔 If you need help finding your hashtag sweet spot or creating digital strategies that actually work, that’s what we’re here for. #SignifyDigital #Hashtags
