Let’s be real: the PR industry can be grueling. Too often, PR agencies promise the moon, only to deliver smoke and mirrors. It’s a nightmare when quantity trumps quality, and junior staff are left to deliver on unrealistic expectations set by those "well-connected" agency leaders. We see it all the time from PR professionals who are fed up with the broken agency model—places where promises about media connections and "exclusive" deals are just that: promises. At By George Communications, we do things differently. We don’t overpromise—we overdeliver. No media mafia, no magic tricks, just honest work that builds trust and results. Here’s what we believe: if we’re transparent about what’s possible—and what isn’t—we protect our clients, our team, and our reputation. Simple as that. If you're tired of the false expectations, let’s chat about how a REAL PR strategy can transform your brand. https://lnkd.in/gQcrHSeY #bygeorgecomms #PRexpert #PR #successstories

As a PR professional, I'm really struggling with the constant interference from marketing teams who don't understand media or PR but still insist on making excessive changes to article drafts. 🤦♀️ I often work with editors who have put together solid content, but then I’m asked to make multiple changes based on the marketing team's personal beliefs and strategies — even though they don't write the content themselves. They don't seem to grasp the fundamentals of PR, and it's frustrating to watch them make edits that don’t align with best practices or the voice of the article. Has anyone else faced similar issues when collaborating with integrated marketing teams? How do you manage these situations and ensure that the integrity of your PR content is maintained? Would love to hear your thoughts on how to avoid or handle collaborations like this with teams that don’t fully understand media or PR. Let’s share some strategies! #PublicRelations #PRStrategy #IntegratedMarketing #MediaRelations #ContentMarketing #PRChallenges #MarketingVsPR #PRProfessionals #PRCommunity #BrandManagement

Don’t Fall into the 'Small PR' Silo Why aim for 250 pieces of coverage when 25 will do? Why go global when you can keep it local? Big companies often fall into the silo mentality when they are thinking about PR. Often a great idea in one country stays just that – as a country initiative. The story could have gone global with a bit of forethought and planning. I see it time again, as big ideas translate into small outcomes. There are many reasons for this. The ‘Me Mentality’: It’s my idea so why should I share it? I’m the one getting quoted. I’m the one getting the kudos from my marcoms team (promote me!). Managers will often say they don’t care who gets quoted. But who are they kidding? (they do). ‘It’s MY budget’ I paid for it. Why should anyone else get it? It’s coming from MY budget. Yes, big companies work in small ways. With pockets of budgets owned by individual managers. If nobody contributes to the project, they don’t get a look. The data is local OK, sometimes country data precludes a story from going global, But not always. If the data set is comprehensive enough, there’s no reason why the story won’t be picked up by overseas news outlets. As long as you can demonstrate the reasons behind your methodology, then Birmingham is as ubiquitous as Bremen. So next time you get a great idea for your company, take a pause and ask: Is this story bigger than local? With a bit of extra planning, you'll get noticed as the person who came up with that great project. The idea that flew around the world! So make sure your big idea gets the big results so everyone wins. #copywriting #pr #thinkbig #creative

It needs to be reviewed on a regular basis — daily if needed — to ensure timeliness and that your content is providing value to your key audiences and moving them to act. #contentcreation #contentstrategy #publicrelations #pr #strategy
